Yeah cos ******* Geelong is the dream destination

Gimme a ******* break. Its an hour drive from Melbourne ffs & its not that great living there. Know people who have lived in both Geelong & Melbourne and none of them miss it. Its not Miami ffs

No one is taking $250k a year less to save themselves an hour drive to go surfing.
It’s not about living in Geelong itself it’s about living on the coast, farms etc. imagine being able to live on the great ocean road and play AFL

Hopper not a gun? Well he’s a far better clearance player than anyone on our list at this time. Take the blinkers off Mate.
Anyway, I’m done discussing this with you as you have your mind set on us not getting a very very good mid, who excels in clearance work and tackles well too.
Please don’t respond, I know your view and don’t need to hear it again

willy wonka and the chocolate factory i said good day GIF

A lot of deja vu this trade period.
Prestia was also apparently not a gun.

Let's let the people who get paid to do this role, do the role.

If you dont like it, go support GWS.
The GWS supporter in here is clearly upset Richmond is taking two of their guns.

two things -
1 - Elton Johns Wig get hard over this
2 - has the quoted post been authenticated and approved by the Magic man?

everyone needs to lay off mr magic if he wasnt on here this thread would only be 500 pages long
The worst part is you can’t put him on ignore because the thread makes no sense with everyone responding 🤣

Graham staying is fine with me.

27 is not enough and some saying Amon is worth more is laughable

Graham, 24 at his level is valuable for a club contending

Graham I think is important for our culture. He seems a little separate from some of the packs/groupings so would be a important read of how our playing list and culture is going.

Also important getting a read on whats happening between reserves and firsts

If he was 28 I would probably piss him off but 24 is a sweet spot for our list making him invaluable

I don't see the point in trading Graham whilst we are contending, keep him and let him go as a FA in 2 years, even if he's only depth. The only thing would be that it will free up cap room if we are targetting a KF in the next few seasons.

Not that we have any say whatsoever, but out of curiosity, would people be keen to see Dan Rioli move back to the forward line and push up on to a wing occasionally (or even the odd stint at centre bounces) ?

I know he has just come 1 vote from being best and fairest in the half-back role, but I dunno, I guess I'm being influenced by Geelong's win... Their back 6 is basically all big guys, they don't worry about having a run/gun defender, they seem to favour the ability to defend more than the foot speed of a rebounder.

Henry, De Koning, Stewart, Kolodjasni, Bews, Tuohy. They're all hard bodies and/or tall.

I'd love to see what a re-energised Rioli could do up forward with his Uncle, partly because I also am worried Cumberland might drop off the pace and we'll be left wanting for a really good medium/small (fingers crossed for you Stacky).

In Rioli's place I reckon we could start to trial Tom Brown in 2023, I really think he's gonna be a player, and will develop into a really good size.

Grimes, Tarrant, Broad, Vlastuin, Balta, Baker, Brown, with Gibcus on standby in 2023 if a tall goes down, and into the 22 for 2024 when Tarrant or Grimes retire.

That's true, but why are we comparing them?

Graham is a mainly outside defensive role player and the two GWS lads are coal face inside bulls.
Outside defensive mid - the lowest of the low value mids in the business Also known as a 'journeyman'. Only a small rung above a defesive forward (also known as a space guarded or a castagna).

Give me an inside attacking, outside attacking or inside defensive mid every day of the week.

Cumbo is not dropping off I’ll tell you that.

While we are at it, let’s move Lynch to a wing and Bolton to a tagging role. It doesn’t make any sense to leave players who are thriving in a role in the role they are thriving in. 😉

Has Rhan Hooper officially nominated us yet?

The worst part is you can’t put him on ignore because the thread makes no sense with everyone responding 🤣

It’s not as difficult as you think. You just assume the magic post is incoherent, implausible, insanely complicated, inconsistent with their previous posts and completely different to what Richmond is doing.

Meanwhile all the responses are like exasperated parents telling their 2/3 year old over and over again that they either wear a nappy or go to the toilet but don’t piss all over the floor/bed/couch etc…

Pick 27 is not enough for JGTI. If it had been an end of first that would be about right. Pick 27 and their 2023 second-rounder, maybe with our 2023 third going back to them.

TBH JGTI is ‘worth’ around #20. However, we are much better with mid-late 20 picks (Bolton, Sonsie, Edwards) than 20’ish (RCD, CJ, Dow, Griffiths).

So 27 and a future 2nd with a 3rd going back much better than a single pick around #20.
