Geez I wouldn’t even know what our B22 would look like if we got Hopper. Our depth would be unreal:

FB: Grimes Tarrant Gibcus
HB: Vlastuin Balta Rioli
C: McIntosh Prestia Pickett
FOL: Nankervis Taranto Bolton
HF: Baker Riewoldt MRJ
FF: Dusty Lynch Cumberland
BEN: Hopper Cotchin Broad Sonsie

Strong depth threatening B22: Short Miller Ross Graham
Others who could “break out” or force into B22 with form / injuries: Stack Dow Brown Clarke Ralphsmith Soldo…

To add, the midfield rotations of:
Prestia / Taranto / Bolton
Hopper / Cotchin / Dusty
Sonsie & Baker having stints… Oof

Drop Gibcus add back Short
Short is a reigning B&F in a premiership year. We ****ed him this year with the positional changes !

Cats fans will melt for sure if we pinch Hopper from under their noses.

"How can Richmond afford both players?"
"Richmond surely doesnt have the draft capital to make it happen"
"Richmond totally disrespecting Riewoldt & Cotchin with such low offers"

LOL

Sorry, I just realise that we're speculating on Tom Browne journalism.

Pull your f*ing head in Tiger fans, don't give this scum's often baseless opinions legitimate consideration.
Cal Twomey was the one who reported the meeting at Punt Road today. I'd say he's quite a respected journo.

Good side but don’t think we play all those inside mids together.
That depth would allow us to keep them fresh though

gws will demand dusty in return
They can’t afford him so they definitely won’t.

I wonder if they might ask about someone like a Graham or even Ross
As steak knives
Low income earners with potential ?

Cotchin shouldn’t be playing ahead the likes of Graham and Ross in the midfield if the club were to be serious about things

Didn't Carlton do a trade with Adelaide last minute to pick him because they thought we were going to pick him.

Man this is funny Blose delisting Stocker. 🤣

The deal they did to get him is worth unpacking, just to see what opportunities they gave up to get him.

At the 2018 draft they swapped their 2019 first round pick which ended at pick 4, to get Crows pick 19 in the 2018 draft with which they took Stocker, and Crows 2019 first rounder, which ended up being pick 11 in the 2019 draft.

So far if we follow they have swapped pick 4 in the 2019 draft for Stocker and pick 11 in the 2019 draft. So a 7 pick downgrade from pick 4 to 11 for a delisted player is not exactly smashing it out of the park. But from there where do they go with this?

They live trade pick 11 in 2019 to Suns and in return they get picks 17 and 22. With 17 they take Kemp and with 22 they upgrade to 20 by handing over pick 55, and take Philp. Pick 55 ended up being taken at pick 49 in the 2019 draft on Callum Jamieson by the Eagles. 3 yeras in for him now a 200cm ruckman/forward, keep an eye on his progress.

Now we cannot write those Carlton players Kemp and Philp off yet by any means, but they are 4th year next year and neither has done anything of note.

The next part of this horror show is what Crows were able to do with what was originally Carlton’s pick 4 in the 2019 draft. They traded it to GWS and got pick 6 in the 2019 draft and also GWS’ first round pick in the 2020 draft. This ultimately fell to pick 11, and Crows took Luke Pedlar with that pick. Crows took Fisher McAsey with pick 6 in 2019. So McAsey seems to be struggling a bit and it is too early to judge Pedlar, only being on th4 list for 2 seasons. So the Crows haven’t yet shot the lights out from the deal either.

But the fun bit is considering what the Blues could have done rather than ending up with Stocker, Kemp and Philp with their 2019 pick 4.

They equally could have held onto that pick in 2018, forgotten about Stocker, and done the same deal the Crows did with GWS, getting pick 6, 2019 and pick 11, 2020.

What choices would that have given them?

Pick 6 2019 any of the following: Caleb Serong, Hayden Young, Kysaiah Pickett, Will Day. The first 3 of those at least are prized assets. There were others further down as well like Cody Weightman and Chad Warner, but they wouldn’t have had to have an eye like a dead fish to get a very very good player.

Pick 11 2020 they could have taken any of Tanner Bruhn, Tom Powell, Heath Chapman, Lachie Jones, Jake Bowey, Max Holmes, Sam Berry, Nath O’Driscoll.

So, Stocker, Kemp and Philp, V any of the following pairs: Young and Bruhn, Pickett and Chapman, Serong and Holmes, even Day and O’Driscoll look like they would have been much better than what the Blues will end up with.

SOS, the laughing stocker yet again. 😁

Knowing cotch, jack and Tarrant will all most likely retire end of next season. And also knowing Dusty’s mega contract a year later will be a lot lower. It would be easier for the club to plan on how to pay these gws boys. They aren’t stupid and prepare for these moves years in advance. Bolton the only one due for a pay day. Which I can see another 2 year being signed until he hits free Agency

Adding Hopper and Taranto will more than make up for the lack of quality KPF’s.

Dusty will just play FF and get back to beast mode anyway.
Problem solved and 60 goals penciled in.
He only needs a Coleman for a full set.
