Might target a free agent to walk to us for nothing. No one knows what the list management team have planned but I guarantee you one thing, they have plans. Last year everyone was up in arms about us not taking an inside mid with no idea the club was targeting 2 a graders 12 months later.
The club knows exactly where the list is at, what our deficiencies are and how to address it.
But Blair is a moron apparently

I will be astounded if there is not a pick coming back our way. Undoubtedly the reason for the delay. Waiting to see the full extent of the giants picks after the Bruhn trade.
Trust me….. we will be getting something !!
I think you're partially correct here. I think GWS are waiting to see what picks they will have after all their trades to give to us but I also think both clubs are also juggling the idea of player swaps too. This deal won't be done until Wednesday (Tuesday at the earliest) next week but it WILL get done. Both clubs are negotiating amicably and are eager to get a fair deal done.

Just on the balance of the deal - People really need to get their head around the fact that their are no winners or losers in trades during trade week any longer. There might be retrospectively after time plays out and players under or over preform but at the time, clubs want to create fair deals where both sides win. Screwing one club over a deal means you develop an unwanted reputation to all clubs across the league and hinders potential trades for years to come. The reason why we have attracted Hooper and Taranto is because of our culture and recent success but also because clubs know that we will work with us to get a fair deal done.

This means we are an attractive destination for both players and clubs. We won three flags because of the contributions of Prestia, Lynch, Houli, Grigg, Caddy, and Nank. Lets hope this trade period helps win us a few more!

Yes but GWS are also smart enough to know the AFL will absolutely bail them out and when he walks as a RFA next year it will conveniently be band 1 and they will probably be gifted a top 6 pick.
Yep this. Also reckon the noise about Whitfield potentially moving might be a little hurry up message to us to get the deal done.

Big price to pay for both Taranto & Hopper but love that the club has identified talent and have gone hard for them. Imagine supporting a club that just sits on its hands all trade period.

Getting two potential guns in the door in one trade period has really never been done. This is quite an effort, massive actually in how we are pulling it off.
What we are paying price wise (mid to late first rounders) is nothing compared to what we have done here.
