I think we’re disrespected. Watch when Cotch retires, he won’t get the same treatment as Selwood.

If Bowes agreed to spread 1.6 mill over 4 years I’d have serious concerns over his intelligence and therefore his ability to learn our game plan. Not to mention how negligent his manager would be.

He is effectively taking a 50% pay cut during his prime years from 25-29 and his highest earning potential years as an AFL player.

Who would seriously agree to that?
From all reports, Geelong were interested in Bowes himself and not just pick 7.
If that is the case then they are absolutely paying him the 1.6, so probably around 2.4 for the 4 years would be my guess.

With the delisted free agency period coming up during the first couple weeks of November, I wonder if we have anyone in mind.
As we have 5 list spots available, realistically 4 as Pickett will take one, we have potential to take up to two players as DFA's.

Ill be keeping an eye on all the delistings this year as I wouldn't be shocked if we targeted a couple.

Callum Ah Chee
Deven Robertson
Caleb Poulter
Xavier O'Halloran
Alex Witherden

Five players yet to re-sign for their clubs that I'd have a look at if available

Callum Ah Chee - will re-sign
Deven Robertson - was probably trade bait and got no bites. C-grader. Wouldn't get a game for us.
Caleb Poulter - F-grader.
Xavier O'Halloran - See Robertson.
Alex Witherden - slow HBFer. Wouldn't get a game for our VFL side.

The chances are he wont need to be the whipping boy if he doesnt get games and last year of his contract

But im sure the lynch mob will find a new boy to whip soon

with great loss comes great opportunity for someone else to step up to the plate

we will find someone else don't worry about that

We've never had any success with picking up another team's trash. I hope we avoid going down that path and back ourselves to find some gems late in the draft.

We definitely will take two players at the draft, but that means we will still have a couple of list spots left after Pickett gets elevated.
Depending on what's available in the rookie draft, I wouldn't be surprised if we opted for a couple of delisted players that may thrive in our system.
