Get Riccardi from GWS to replace Jack.

Pros:
Lower money spent on contract, means more money available to target a genuine Lynch replacement
Fits the groups age profile much better
Not a utility, but a genuine KPF
Can play alongside Lynch and do the grunt work further up the ground to allow Lynch to remain closer to goal.
Allows us to leave Gibcus down back to build an understanding with Balta & Young.

Cons:
Not a free agent.


For me more to gain and less to lose going down the Riccardi path, than the HH path.

Unproven. Getting a HH type can actually facilitate this by covering his defensive post allowing to play forward armed with the knowledge we can swing it back if need

The absence of Lynch and the ageing of Jack. We need to replace Jack next year. Lynch in a couple of years.
I live in NSW and see the Swans and Giants free to air.
I know HH can play KPF. Gws used 3 KPF. HH, Finlayson and Cameron.Last couple of years, HH has stepped out of the fwd line. GWS still have Riccardi, Hogan and the first round draft pick.
Our recruiters didn't think Miller was up to it so they brought in Tarrant.
It feels similar. JR replacement in house replacement just a bit too green.
McStay has identical stats to HH and he went for $3million. (Now injured)
So it's HH or Georgiadis type... bit cheaper but injury prone.
I think I'd wait until gibcus has a crack at KPF. And bring in one if he or Ryan/Miller/Bauer fails

He will most likely sign a new 3/4 year deal for $1 mil a year with 75% paid out of their cap

I have no doubt the TPP will be going up between 20%-25% over the next 3 years with the whopper TV rights kicking in

Richmond have to make the most out of opportunities and take FA that fills a need and HH provides so much possibilities in game
Play KPF or swapping with Ryan , Balta , Gibcus etc

I never forget the Jimmy Jess days where when in trouble he used to get thrown foward and kick 2-3 goals or when under pressure go back to defending
these players are priceless playing in the right setup with the right coach

No you are really right. Like, let's draft a KPF with the first round draft picks we don't have and wait for somewhere between 4-8 years to find out whether they become the truly dominant forward you are hoping for,

or we can find some team that wants to draft all our role players in return for their KPF. (we can probably get Chol for McIntosh, though his salary is 500K+)
And if we are going to trade with Gold Coast would prefer we got some speed...

or better still we could get HH who wants to be a KPF and wants to come play with his good mates Timmy and Hopper and will give the KPF player we draft a couple years to develop before he as to be the man.
