Hello Tiger fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

tugga you may like to sticky or merge this post, move it to the start of the thread (so the sticky post doesn't rotate if a post is deleted before it), or copy it to your draft thread.

lol - word?

Come December 10th Tom Dekoning with be 24 and Samson Ryan will be 23

He’s had three more pre seasons I guess

With the Gold Coast 3 academy picks, will it mean our picks are actually a few places higher than when they are now? As they will need to use their picks up as points?

Doggies have Croft as well but is there any other F/S that might counter it?
It's very hard to say because things can change with pick swapping leading up to the draft and of course, live trading during the draft. However, as things stand right now, pick 29 should come in by 3, 41 and 49 should come in by 6.

Hawthorn are also using points on McCabe and Dear.

Given this draft is reportedly fairly even from 10 onwards, may as well just hold this year and wait for those picks to come in unless someone really drifts out.

*, remember when Shiela was a top prized pick up lol. Bullet dodged.
Working from home today and desperately looking to find as many distractions as possible- so hit the drugs board and found the Shiel thread - checked out the chestbeating on the first few pages after Dodo landed such a massive 'fish'.

Considering the first this year is likely to end around pick 24, then yes. AFL is just giving everyone first round comp now as they haven't adjusted for salary cap increases. Plus all the Father/Sons. Then all the Priority picks they are giving out. Then all the Academy picks that get plucked out. These days by the time the 2nd round begins, the top 30 young players are already gone, so thats what its actually worth. A 2nd rounder is how long is a piece of string. They have royally ****ed it up.

I would say Dockers are in that 12th to 5th range. They have yo-yo'd for a few years and will likely find some consistency in the next few years

If second round picks are so invaluable, I’m sure you’d have no issues with moving our second round pick for Kosi?

Even if you’re right and that F2 is in the 30’s on the back of Academy and Father/Son players; it means there are multiple Academy and Father/Son players for which teams will need points to match.

Teams will want to either trade back their first rounders for points (e.g. Suns moving pick 4 this season) or like Port did; trade a first round pick for additional seconds for multiple trade targets.

It’s not where the pick ultimately ends up, it’s the additional currency that’s important.

Can't remember a trade period that has been so underwhelming in terms of the quality (or lack of) of players being moved.
We were quite wise to steer clear.

Hawks just got fleeced!

It's Ginnivan FFS, Pies know he's bad news.

Ginnivan got booted out of the club.
Glad we didn't enter into negotiations late.

Spot on. On draft night when another team has a player they really want on the board at one of our picks and we don’t have anyone we are really desperate for - for example pick #35, we say ‘no problem, give us your F2 and it’s all yours’.

Yep Blues will be after one of their usual rd 1 sliders around that pick. :)

My god - you guys are easily impressed. How could anyone be stoked to get a future 4th round pick? With priority & compo picks to be added its likely something in the 80's. Most teams have stopped picking at that point anyway - a Future 4th is only going to be useful for us if we expect to be cutting 6 or more players next year

2022 - 4th was last round with only 6 picks & 59 kids selected
2021 - 4th was last round with only 13 picks 65 kids selected,
2020 - 4th was last round with only 8 picks, 59 kids selected

a Port future 4th is no better than our 5th round pick, as they likely go top 4 again
Go scratch the pimple on your ass mate

**** you are a real drainer at times

How did they get fleeced ?

They're pick 33 turns to 39.
They're 2nd rounder turns into pies 2nd rounder. Could be anywhere between a 6-12 pick downgrade.
They're 3rd for the Pies 4th.

A few pick downgrades ain't a fleecing

Taranto & Hopper looking better by the minute imagine if we saved the Cap space for this year.

I’m a bit behind, but it seems like Hawthorn will trade Brandon Ryan to bring back Gunston. **** knows why, he’s just about done.

Shame we didn’t sniff around on the possibility of getting Ryan. The Schultz trade shows if you ask around, sometimes you’ll get. He would be handy for us and surely he’d rather be at Punt Rd than uproot to Brisbane.

This year's picks 33 and 39 will only end up a couple of picks apart. So that is only a very slight upgrade in favour of the Pies. The swap of rd2 picks in 2024 I wouldn't wind betting only end up about 8-10 places apart all things considered, so that isn't of huge value either. Overall I would say the Hawks have likely coughed up something around the value of pick 30-35 overall for Ginnivan. Overpaid, but not shafted.

surely we dont go near ginnivan, id like to think were learned our lesson with yarran. this campaigner is a loose cannon.
By the sounds of it he still has some growing up to do.Winning a premiership so early in his career won't help matters.
Will be delisted within 3yrs imo.

Personally I think Fremantle will improve next year and most likely finish top 8. So it being port or Freos second round pick is meh.

Sad to see a very important figurehead of the culture of the footy club leave.
I'm sure some GWS supporters (if they actually had any) would have been saying something comparable about the Hopper trade last year and where we would finish (a lot of Richmond supporters sure as hell did). Anyhow, there is a chance they might not improve, injuries, dysfunctional coaching, whatever. Luck always plays a part where you finish on the ladder, plus it's a hell of a lot more fun deathriding other clubs rather than being death ridden yourself. Good luck to Soldo, but yeah at least we're in with a chance to get a good payoff.

It's a average return of a starting quality Ruck aged 27. Short term it hurts. If Nank goes down we will get slaughtered, and i mean slaughtered out of the middle. Teams like the Dogs, Lions, Demons will absolutely hold our hair and ask us to count to 10

Soldo played the last 7-games of 2023 and we were slaughtered in the midfield and clearances in most of those games… unless you weren’t watching?
