Hello Tiger fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

tugga you may like to sticky or merge this post, move it to the start of the thread (so the sticky post doesn't rotate if a post is deleted before it), or copy it to your draft thread.

lol compared to who , god
Only built a list that won three flags one vfl and a r/up
List below recruiters that have achieved more , I’ll get the popcorn

This article is hilarious reading even the comments. LOL

Hindsight is a wonderful thing though, bar the 2016 offseason Jackson was bordering on being a failure. Maybe he was just better at trading in the right players than drafting them?

What a ridiculously stupid remark , maybe substitute dimma for Jackson above ,,,,, the groundwork for our dynasty was laid long before 2016 you wacka

Reckon Balmey made a difference at the trade table. We always seemed to get reamed with trades before Balme came along in 2016.

carltoon supporter in there embarrased himself

hope he enjoyed our dynasty

All oppo supporters loved our 3 flag + 1 minor + VFL flag + Wheelchair team flag, multiple GF sprint winning, record Brownlow vote, record coach vote, triple Norm Smith & Ayres, Coleman Medal, Goss Medal dynasty Gru. Shame they stopped running the Dandy Dollar Dash, we'd have cleaned that up too, beating Norman Yemn with a leg in the air. But all oppo supporters loved that golden period where everywhere they turned, we were winning something. It made them deliriously happy. :)

How we didn't win the Eurovision Song Contest during our dynasty escapes me. Robbed.

Too funny. Your right it was built before 2016 but you seem to forget Jackson was in the role from 2005. Not sure why your hell bent on making him out to be some messiah though. He was far from it.

Given the difficulties Francis Jackson had to deal with - specifically a massively under-funded recruiting department relative to the era - you could reasonably argue he has pound for pound been the best recruiter in the AFL this century.

That's true, plus the compromised drafts. Much easier to agree with you than some other posters. 🤣

Jackson was shite as well.

Jackson part time role as a recruiter was the foundation for Richmond sucess - how did an AFL/VFL Club decide that the recruiters role should be on a part time role is absolutely unbeleivable - Michael Turner from the Geelong Falcons that were turning out unbelievable recruits (Jim Bartel) that were behind Geelong success was mystified as to why Richmond Recruiting Officers never ever contacted him ! We were happy to recruit Jonathon Oakley Nicholls on the basis of CD highlights ! Shenigans still abound - Fawcett first match where he absolutely dominated was not recorded only visually assessed by Richmond recruiting leaving other clubs recruiting officers non the wiser - maybe our big smokey !

To whom do you give credit for recruiting our 3 x flag 1 x minor 1 x VFL flag dynasty teams then?

We must have had a team full of Paul Meldrums who just walked in off the street and asked to train. :)

The guy pissed through so much draft currency. Reaching for spuds like Conca at pick 6!

The picks he made that won us a flag were, Rance and Riewoldt, which were genuinely good picks for the range. But there were some huge howlers along the way.

What really won us a flag was getting Dusty being the best player of his generation and a really innovative game plan that allowed some mediocre but highly athletic role players to shine.

In inner circles FJ is lauded as a guru , he’s the guy at the back of the room with the recruiting team rolling over vision , and he pipes up wait go back and there’s handball from the bottom of the pack everyone missed , the room just shakes their collective head ,,,he was one of a kind , so lucky to have him

2006 - Riewoldt & Edwards
2007 - Cotch & Rance
2009 - Dusty, Astbury & Grimes
2010 - Grigg & Houli

This was the backbone of our Premiership era. All drafted by Jackson or Traded by Cameron.

Brian – how you feeling about these comments now? Any credit for the job FJ has done?
Carlton were probably not a good comparable club to be referencing, considering where they are at.
Taking a quick look at playing list from the weekend, you’ve got 15 of the 22 that were drafted under FJ’s watch. To name a few: Riewoldt, Rance, Martin, Cotchin, Edwards, Griffith, Vickery, B.Ellis, Vlastuin…….
Every recruiter would have a swathe of players that didn’t make it, but it’s starting to look like an elite group of players coming together at Punt Rd.

Discussion on FJ Recruiting - yes there were blunders - Griffiths before Fyfe etc

Plenty of blunders made my every recruiter in the land.
Except for the great DoDo of course.

lol not sure of your point , it’s pretty emphatic that he built a premiership dynasty , plucking some random player from the boon docks is laughable if that’s all you got

Gruff and Houli were trades, Dusty and Cotchin were no brainers. Rance and Reiwoldt were his two best picks for mine.
