Hello Tiger fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

tugga you may like to sticky or merge this post, move it to the start of the thread (so the sticky post doesn't rotate if a post is deleted before it), or copy it to your draft thread.

I'm gonna say it.

Part of the reason is our rucks. Our current midfield setup allows us to be an effective centre bounce team, but the way Nank plays as a ruck limits the potential of our midfield.

I think I have a rant every game thread. He got smashed by marshal and English in successive weeks. There’s no way our midfield can work behind such poor ruck work.

Dimma and seemingly mini are wedded to the idea of Nank as a full game ruck. So our best choice at this stage is a new coach.

You don’t trade your captain no matter how you sell it. Whether you like it or not the players voted. It’s the type of thing that would tear the club apart internally.
Hideous decision

More reason to move on from Dimma’s era. New coach, new captain. Earn your spot etc.

Gotta love the stupidity of the post - classic Bigfooty. Let's entertain it for the "lolz".

Goes on about how Nank is effectively no good yet proceeds to say a club will "pay overs" to get him? The mental gymnastics is really something to behold here.

It's almost as if last year an AA ruck wasn't traded to Melbourne for absolute peanuts despite his trade value being exponentially higher Nanks would ever be.

Imagine how bad this place is going to get during the period.

That AA ruckman was on crippling salary cap money and the reason he was moved on. It was a decision that club made for the betterment of the club. A smart club decision that has looked to paid off in spades. They haven’t missed him and improved their future.

Never once have I said Nank is “no good” you simpleton. I’ve said, if you open your eyes and watch the game, understand that his strengths are being fazed out and his weaknesses getting exposed more as he ages. Timing is everything and being smart enough to see his decline, the position we are in, what we could get from a trade, to me it’s the perfect storm to trade and improve our future.

It’s so frustrating trying to have a discussion with these types that think club and players are perfect. Talk about mental short people.

Ridiculous comparison. Griffen pushed the trade and wanted out. No way Nank goes down that path but carry on

Club captain got traded. That’s the comparison. Doesn’t matter who requested. He was captain and was traded. It’s a factual comparison.

There’s a myth that it would blow up the place. People act like there would be a curse on the place. It’s not true.

I’m not going to be upset if we keep Nank but, I think it would be beneficial as his influence on the field declines. It’s a thought to discuss on the forum.

You sir, have given me many headaches lately by the shaking of my head every time you post. Laughable.

Laughable is your list management strategy. Thank **** you don’t have a real say

Regardless of Nank staying or going, if he remains our number 1 ruck option next year, we are in big trouble in the future. West Coast loss numbers. I agree with TigerBob that I would trade him now. If not him then trade Soldo. Play Ryan in the Ruck every week until he hits the mark development wise. Nank or Soldo are the back up option only. That's the only way forward. Recruit another young Ruck in the draft if needed.

In regards to recruiting this year. We need tall Forwards, small forwards and Midfielders only. No more half back flanker types seriously, even if they rank higher on talent. We have enough already..

So if we have Nank playing with us next year we lose by 100 points every few weeks? 😵‍💫

I’d hope the club is looking into finding a way into the top 10 of this draft and going after Nate Caddy. 193cm/91kg. 25 goals in 9 games at Coates/Metro level this year. Super creative tall forward with great athleticism, excellent set shot finisher. Was absolutely dominant and got beat on in the herald sun shield game (with Tom lynch presenting him his medal). Currently slated around the 6-12 pick mark but could jump higher then this.

Would be a great investment into our forward stocks and would be an exciting foil next to Tom Lynch for a few years.

I thought Ryan showed great signs as a 1st ruck/ fwd in the time. Just needs size and to build his motor but his ruck craft and marking potential is good and he's reasonably skilled for a big man.

That would mean one of Nank or Soldo is tradable, Soldo probably gets more on the trade table because he's younger and better in the ruck than Nank.

Primarily we need a better coaching setup. The games changed but we didn’t.

There is no way a midfield with Dusty, who’s still playing well, Taranto, Hopper, Bolton and Prestia should be so ineffective.

What we ask of our midfielders and small forwards is out dated hasn’t worked since the stand rule came in.

We need to prioritise hitouts and numbers at the contest. Winning the ball first and rather than hoping to win it back and then rebound.

Just think a genuine kpf is far greater priority.
Silvagni is no hack but you’re likely playing above market value to get him to swap clubs and doing a trade, the price is just too high.
I’d prefer to continue playing Bauer in that 3rd tall role and looking at trading into the draft to nab Nate Caddy . Caddy and Bauer playing the same role Silvagni would be and we are building a forward line that’ll be primed for the next premiership assault.
Nank is only gonna get worse as the he gets on too. His weaknesses will be exposed more and more.

Which if anyone takes the blinkers off, we are starting to see now.

A team who think they are a ruckman away from finals or a flag would pay overs for a Premiership ruck.
Our best 22 is not "very good", you're looking at the names on paper and not the actual way they play. If they were very good, we wouldn't be 13th. A lot of them were great, but by and large a lot of them are all older, slower and not as good as they were.

If it all hinges on one player in Lynch, then the list management is terrible.

We are a middle road - bottom side, not as bad as the worst few, but we aren't close to the top few either.

Hence there's a fair bit of work required.
NZ Tiger - Great point.

Charlie - He will cost eff all

Bob - No it wont, he doesnt rely on athleticism, jump or speed. He relies on being a brute.

Juss - I said Core and 1/3 of our best 22 needs upgrading so whilst I agree with you, you havent actually argued with what I said.

Out of the two of us champ, only one has been involved at a club in list strategy at the highest level. I am laughing at you.
Bob are you telling us you have been involved at an AFL club in a role related to building a list?

Define Smashed

In Nank's absence the Hawks game saw a smashing with centre clearances & clearances in general. We were lucky to win. In the Dogs game first qtr, The ball hits the ground it gets won by opposition rushed fwd for 9 goals.

I thought TT & JH would be helping us avoid this, but we've failed badly. I'd stop playing Hopper and use Dow

Nank seems to have eased off his attack on the ball once it hits the ground but he is getting as many clearances as last year. He hardly gets any frees against which is good.

Soldo went OK alone but Nank is a better ruck

Selecting Nank & Soldo together is madness. Neither are a threat up fwd. Ryan has been a revelation, needs some development. We could do without Soldo.

Its the internet so he could say anything and then get real indignant when people say its bullshit without him providing any receipts

That is true. Lucky, proving it to the likes of you isn’t a concern to me. A select few here know about what role I had.

I’ve actually done work at 2 clubs. One on a more casual recruiting basis long after I left previous club. Long time ago now though.

So it’s funny when people slate people in a forum talking about football about “I think I’d trust the club over some person posting on a forum” trust me, the guys in roles sometimes aren’t the smartest tools in the shed.

Look at me, even I had a role lol.
