The game is so messed up. "If you choose to bump and someone gets hurt you'll be suspended" is the most ridiculous concept.

Either ban the bump - or don't. Sitting on the fence is killing the game.
What's worse is the lack of consistency - what applies to Dan Houston should apply to competition golden boys like Patrick Cripps and Charlie Cameron, but they're apparently special cases.

In the night’s second hearing (not before 6:30pm AEST), Port Adelaide defender Dan Houston will face the music for a huge collision which concussed Adelaide superstar Izak Rankine, ending his Showdown and season.

Live feed will be at this Fox Sports article page which I quoted above.

It’s only ending his season because he plays for a club that is rubbish.

So when is the execution?

Was due to start at 6:00 Adelaide time. Just got underway. We're asking for 3 weeks.

We say body contact with Rankine concussed due to head hitting ground (I think this is a losing argument), and Houston's good record should be accounted for.

Football acts and punishing the outcome.
BTW I think Houston deserves a 1-2 week suspension for the act of a shirt front on an unprotected opponent. And nothing added for the outcome.

"If you choose to tackle and someone gets hurt you'll be suspended"

"If you choose to mark and someone gets hurt you'll be suspended"

"If you choose to push in the back and someone gets hurt you'll be suspended"

"If you choose to kick the ball and someone gets hurt you'll be suspended"

""If you choose to shake hands and someone gets hurt you'll be suspended"

Add a couple more weeks:

Adelaide's medical report notes that, in addition to concussion, Rankine suffered an AC joint injury to his right shoulder.
Now we find out.

Think that this helps Ports case that it wasn't high contact.

And that throws the cat amongst the pigeons in terms of the charge of high contact.

If this is played right, 3 weeks is a possibility.

Port play the good bloke card early

Krupka (Power) notes Houston had not been suspended across his 168 AFL games and 18 SANFL games. He has received one melee fine.
