Does this reinforce a bit stiff for jeka not to get another year? Understand unlikely to make it in afl but handy depth and seemingly handy vfl player

Is Patrick Hughes a chance of being drafted? A young inside midfielder, I believe.

What did it take Atkins… 2 or 3 years of outstanding performance at VFL level to get drafted. Or Stewart? Who knows in the future… my bet is we are more likely to look at the Premiership side for matures..

Some are one and done others take a few

Chalcraft wasn't even looked at. It's a high bar.

The decision to move Blicavs to defence late in the year probably didn't help his chances of another contract.
I watched a bit of Jeka in the 2's, some of his decision making with ball in hand was truly awful. He was constantly taking super high risk kicks across goals and more often than not, turning it directly over to the opposition for easy shots at goal.

Was a decent mark, and could find the footy, but just made far too many dumb mistakes..

I think it will be back to struggle street in the VFL next year with all the raw talls.

The one thing I like about it though is that the club have really thrown the gauntlet down for Clark, Knevitt and Clohesy by clearing out Parfitt and Hardie.

Step up and lead the midfield to bang the door down for an AFL spot.

Who they play in the guts will be interesting including some of our draftees.

We will be recruiting a couple of mature vfl listed mids surely. Hopefully Herbert stays.

If Clark, Knevitt and Clohesy can't absolutely dominate at VFL level next year then they should be moved on.

A lot of that depends on them choosing us right?

It certainly does and that's where it can be hard to recruit over some big country clubs offering less commitment and more $$$/contra but I would hope we are trying to bring a couple of good mature vfl guys in.

Clark won't be moved on for a variety of reasons.

If knevitt and clohesy don't crack regular best 23 next year they will move themselves onto clubs where they can more realistically get games-we won't have to push them.
