This is horrid. Disappointing performances from those on the fringe, e.g. Reef, Sullivan, Macrae. Poor skills on display, but also some really poor efforts. Macrae I saw just jogging after his opponent, putting no effort into it. Harry at least is showing some intent.

Moving Johnson back is proving to be good move, if only to get his hand on the ball and potentially some confidence back. One of the only positives so far.
A woeful first half, really nothing at all to get excited about when we play so poorly.
Our depth is seriously questionable.
Early on, I thought TJ showed a bit but really, every time they go inside 50 they score with relative ease.
Forward line after quarter time seems to be non-existent. Charmy showed a bit and then went missing, Crocker fighting hard but a lone battle, Reefe pffffffffft, doesn't look like it. Allen bright start and then went completely missing, to the point i wondered if he was injured and off the field.
Dimma will be better for the run and Parker has again shown he has something.
Only positive about Ash is he is taking marks and getting kicks, but not sure he is defending too well.
If you are going to draft a Lachie Sullivan you have to put him in the guts, he's not much good elsewhere.
Throw a blanket over most of them and write on it below-ordinary to terrible today.

No. Not the whole team.
But let’s work out whether we are wasting our time with McInness, Macrae and Harrison. They are the 3 that have been around long enough to know whether they can contribute to the seniors. That’s if we can get 30 or 40 games into them.
Do you think we should waste another 18months to find out? May be a better list decision than having 34 yr olds having no impact on games for another 18 months.

His disposal has been poor as well. I'm not sure who is teaching these kids to do the dinky little floating kicks, because they just kick them straight to the opposition or kick them over the head of their teammates....

All AFL listed players, yet a terrible VFL side is slicing through them like a hot knife through butter.
HOW? Are they all just poor defensively? Is the coaching terrible? Are they all in the wrong position? Do our experienced mids just put zero pressure on?

Only player I would potentially ‘rush’ to 40 games is HH but that’s more because I think he will actually deserve them. Macrae I’m pretty much out on, just don’t see it with him. Reef I would give games to when he deserves them

Yes.
Put Sullivan, DeMattia, Bytel, Carmichael all in the guts. I'm not sure why they have DeMattia just jogging around HB, Carmichael floating around HF. Get the hard nuts into the midfield, even put McInnes in there if they want....
Once Pendles is retired, if he isn't immediately offered the position as the head of player Development at the Pies, then those in charge have missed an opportunity.....

Just a quick observation of AJ, he has to get to the front of contests more, even if his opponent is taller. Curnow has made a career out of it
