We all know the season is going to be a joke. I have zero interest in seeing us push for finals.

So, I'm all in on the 'let's use the year to experiment' idea.

Things I'd like to see;
  • Talia to Full Forward. The poor bugger has had years trying to stem the flow. Let him have a bit of fun instead.
  • Fog to play centre. Why not? Might help build his tank as well.
  • T Lynch to the HBF. Might learn how to chase while he is there.
  • Himmelberg to CHB. Let's see how he goes.
  • Jones, McHenry, Poholke, Gallucci all to play major midfield minutes. Let's see what they have.
  • Sloane to take Lynch's HFF role. No midfield time until last quarter.
  • M Crouch to play more forward minutes and mid.
  • B Crouch to play more minutes in defence than mid.
  • Gibbs, Mackay, Hartigan, Seedsman, Kelly, Knight & Wilson to play golf. That is all.
  • Hamill, McAdam, Schoenberg, Sholl, Butts, McAsey, Davis to play at least half the games each.
  • O'Connor and Worrell to play a few games each.
Absolutely no point worrying about this season, so might as well see what else we might have.

Any other great ideas? :p

Personally think this is taking it a bit too far. We’d be certain to get done for tanking and lose draft picks.

Fog must play full forward and learn how to kick bags. For 2021 he needs to be our number 1 forward.
Crouch brothers may as well be playing golf if not playing midfield.
Seedsman doesn’t deserve to be in that group yet for mine. Still our most talented wingman (Smith is Hb).
Butts not ready to play AFL, would harm his development.
Haven’t seen enough of O’Connor or Worrell to suggest they are anywhere near AFL ready. Suggest they’re not that close. Worrell I would like to see for a game or two though as he was touted as a much higher draft pick then he ended up being, and we could use a swing man.

And I’m actually ok with that.

This should absolutely be used as a development year.

Play the kids!!!

Come on, you know after a few weeks away from the club and a short run in the first name that springs to mind is the uber reliable David Mackay. He's a certainty to be selected for our first game back.

Fagan praised the “solutions first” attitude of the playing list and said no player has been hesitant about the move.
“I was on the phone to Rory Sloane and he said we need to make the most of this… be upbeat and positive,” Fagan said.
“I think they intend to travel just as a playing group (initially).
“They’ll get used to the environment up there, but we know families can come up as well.
“That will be considered once they have time to settle.”
The Club will be relocated before May 25 - the day all AFL clubs are free to resume full contact training.
The full squad is set to travel, with an additional 25 people permitted for roles such as coaches, doctors and physiotherapists.
Adelaide will share the same hub facility as Port Adelaide and even fly cross-country with the Power on a chartered flight to the Gold Coast.
“We said this season was unique,” Fagan said.
“I think having both teams working (not training) together in a hub will add to the uniqueness… it’s certainly different.”
In the opening weeks of the new fixture, which the AFL is expected to announce within the next 7-10 days, teams local to one another are expected to face off.
Fagan conceded this could include a Showdown match.
“We need to recognise we’re trying to get away 144 games,” he said.
“I think they (the AFL) will look to have those teams based in Queensland play each other over four to five weeks.
“I’d love to have it back here, but have to see where the AFL lands on it.”

Hopefully it is obvious to our coaches, AFC staff and Board that we have two objectives this year;
1) Develop our Kids
2) Get good draft picks

I’m sorry but we can’t waste games on Gibbs, Mackay, Hartigan and Wilson. It’s harsh but possibly add Keays, Crocker, Strachan and Taylor to that list given the cuts to AFL lists next year.

Strangely the craziness of this season could work in our favour. It is hard to be tanking if the AFL significantly reduce your chance of winning .

If we also screw things up for the Pear, so much the better.

Give this man a box of Cuban cigars. In fact give him a container ship full of them.

How refreshing to here this. If only the other state leaders and non Vic clubs Chairmen/Presidents had the backbone this man has.

He stands out from the rest of the butt kissing whimps who continually accept the vic centric rubbish the AFL dishes out to non vic clubs.

Roo said on Fox Footy this week that this year isn’t about winning a premiership, it’s about building for the future and finals were a bonus. First time I have ever heard those words from a Crows official.

Not too worried about the lads catching covid-19..more worried what they might catch being bunked up next to the power ferals for weeks..uugh
As long as we don't have another Ramsgate episode....I don't think we have quite the firepower we had back then.

The whole set up is a farce.
Victoria had another 21 new cases yesterday. The Meat works and McDonalds clusters continue to grow, but yeh, let's push ahead and bring hundreds over to play football.
Meanwhile, SA, WA and NT have zero new cases again. Apart from not wanting Victorian teams to travel, what possible explanation could there be for pushing families into a greater risk by playing in Melbourne, than having the Victorian teams relocate to SA, WA and NT, have two weeks of quarantine and then play games in those states? I'm sure SA, WA and NT governments would have allowed travel between each state once quarantine had been completed. What the governments don't want is teams flying in to those states from Vic. Victoria is still a risk in terms of Covid. They still have community transmission occurring.
