Poor defense but youd be hard pressed to find a better midfield than that

I think we potentially have the best key forwards and midfield
North have 2 ex WC mid size forwards roaming their forward line ;)
Melb only have 1 forward over 192cm who is there long term

In what area. Generalization is for idiots. Are you an idiot?

Id take Dees but the least inspiring part is a terrible terrible call

Hurn, Sheppherd, Rosa, Kennedy, Strjik, Naitanui, Shuey, Masten, Brown, Schofield, McKenzie, Scooter, would all waltz into the Blues current 22.

You overrate your players way too much Masten is lucky to get a game in the spoon winning team ....which all those stars led you too

Actually alot better than I thought but the midfield makes me cringe...

I'd anticipate Howlett/Lonergan (Ok but not top flight quality midfielders - and most Essendon supporters know this) to be replaced with Atley/Prestia (i.e. pick 8) in due course - would be the plan. It is most definitely the area we need to focus on and another weakness is a lack of a lock-down small defender.

Versatility is the key with Essendon's young brigade. Pears, Hooker and Bellchambers are probably the only 3 that can't move around too much from their particular positions - FB, defensive utility and ruck respectively.

P.S. I just read S_20's post, I agree re: Jetta, a late bloomer when at the start of the year many would've thought his career at EFC was curtains.

WTF Godzke? Shuey and Callum Wilson aside those players listed played a majority of football over the past 2 seasons when they were fit. Most have played about 10+ games in there role and have shown AFL quality.

16 of my 22 played in Round 22 this season ffs.

Lonergan's been here for 4 or 5 so I think we know what we're getting.
Worth keeping in mind Howlett's not done a full pre-season. Don't rule anything out with him, could be a bolter.

Hahahah, you are funny and despite that we will still finsh a few places above you. This is prob your pax maxima. Judd the Dudd will start to decline along with the rest of your team.
I guess you made the finals last year after losing a ruckman to injury, trading the Coleman Medallist and one of your best midfielders retired?

Harvey and Rawlings are closer to the end than Judd, but still a key to North's game.

I love how we're viewed as a team with no upside and improvement to come.

Carlton was one of the youngest sides this year, but made the finals again after we were written off.

I guess we should trade Kreuzer, Gibbs, Murphy, Henderson, Lucas, Garlett, Warnock and Yarran for draft picks to be younger again. ;)

Youth is fools gold used to sell hope to the bottom eight sides.

Collingwood went all the way because they brought in Jolly, Brown and Ball to complement their young players.

Those 5 players aside, ditto you're above comment embers.

You said 16, I've got 17 by my count.

You're next point?

lol embers

Eagles' younguns are as much an unknown quantity as Essendon's yet you've put them at either end of the scale. Classic :thumbsu:

Like Richmond's u23 posted above: a better midfield but inferior forwardline and a long, long way behind in defense.

HF: Angus Monfries, Scott Gumbleton, David Zaharakis
FF: Darcy Daniher, Jake Carlisle, Kyle Reimers

HF : Houli Griffiths Nason
FF : Vickery Reiwoldt White

Tate and Hurley are more experienced than Astbury and Gourdis but don't agree the Essendon side mention anywhere near matches the Richmond side ?

It's hard to say considering their lack of AFL games. Inexperienced, yes. Poor, not so sure.
