That tap back from freddy to schultz to put us ahead (i think) was insanely good. Freddy in the third quarter in general really helped turn that game.
The minute before that he worked really hard. Put a big tackle on in Melbourne's half to force a stoppage, soccered it forward in the middle of the ground then sprinted forward to make that tap.

OK

++POSITIVES++
  • Homework - while we were all weeping and wailing, Justin and the coaches were doing it. The Logue move clearly showed the coaches were on the ball with needing to make May accountable, and then they were astute enough to keep Griff there rather than panicking and sending him back.
  • Griff was good(!) as a pressure forward and third marking option. The move was pretty situational, but I think it shows there's value in our forward structure of a third marking target in that 189-192cm range (Fyfe, N come on down?)
  • The 3-4 minute stretch at the end of the first half where we withstood them coming at full steam, steadied and kicked a steadier probably won't be included in the highlights, but says an enormous amount about the will and belief of the playing group.
  • Lobb - who I am ready and willing to shit on in quite a hair trigger fashion - was phenomenal, and played a huge part in keeping us in it when they looked like rolling over us.
  • The mid-game adjustment - including Aish and Sonny into the middle - moving it quickly, the mids going above and beyond and making them panic.
  • If it was chemically feasible, I would distill the Freddy and Shooter show and inject it straight into my veins. When our smalls apply the pressure and work hard, we win games.
  • The intercept defending from Cox, Ryan, Chapman, Young and Clark. Moose looked a little bit shakier, but still gave Brown an absolute bath.
  • Will Brodie's handballs are starting to border on the pornographic.

---NEGATIVES---
  • Tabs back injury
  • I'd still rather Ras, Johnson or Sturt as the sub more than Banfield.

Logue forward to stop May then gets subbed out...lol

I dont want Logue up forward ever again.
I know what you mean, but you must have seen the difference it made for us having a mobile 3rd tall who can mark, pressure and spoil? He didnt even need to have offensive ability outside the marking.

I'm all aboard this train, Zurhaar is absolutely a must get this off season. He will make an incredible difference

Loved Logue forward I agree it caused headaches for the opp didn’t kick a goal but he marked it a lot and caused a lot of headaches!! Well done J-Lo

Logue forward ay ?
Who’d a thunk what an extra pair of strong hands and pressure could do for us
Well done Mr Longmuir
Complete redemption from last 2 weeks

Brennan Cox and Pearce belted the absolute shit out of their tall forwards. Ben Brown had what, one kick?

This morning I was thinking about the game and reflecting that JL and the coaches are very “process driven” and don’t pull many surprises. Nek minit Logue up forward and (2nd half Ash) on Oliver!

Brodie’s brilliant hands has been mentioned already but he just doesn’t fumble. The “trade gods” have smiled on us at last!
