Preview R2: Changes vs. Essendon

As I said - I don't think Tex had a bad game. Just didn't really influence the match compared to his team mates.

He was on the ground for 55% of the match, had 2 marks, 3 kicks and a goal in a 60 point drubbing.

But to say he played his role very well is overkill. He took a backseat in a 60 point training drill and had very little influence in the match - which once again is perfectly fine.
I wouldn’t just look at stats

Any possibility they may move Scholl to the sub or out? didn't set the world on fire as such.... admittedly didn't do much wrong either.
No played wing role v well , it’s a very specialist role, found plenty of ball

No chance he loses that spot this week

Same re Cumming , didn’t find much of it but got in right spots at either end deep in defence and deep in attack , 2 goals helps

He's played the sub role before, and to his credit done quite well.

I do like that he's a specialist winger though. He seems to know his role and puts himself in the right position almost every time. Personally I think that's probably quite valuable to Nicks

My tip too. His burst speed on the MCG later in the game would be handy.

But Draper would then need a full game the following week... at home against NM is a pretty good opportunity to do it.
Good call. I was happy to let him have as many as 3 or 4 weeks as the sub to build his base. But a home game against the Roos would be ideal.

As long as he's still playing predominantly midfield. I just don't want him named on the field, but then playing the entire game on the Graveyard.

I guess we find out if Jones is best 22. No idea who he would push out, though.
Pre-season team selections indicate that he's no longer in the best 22 - like Murphy he found himself in the B-team every time (not counting intra-club matches).

Lol, we lost 11 games at the G in succession, It took us 2819 days or 8.17 years to complete that record. Richmond lost 10 games, it took them less than 1 calendar year (347 days).
Close. We lost 10 in succession.

Our winless streak started with a famous McGovern mark/kick/goal to steal a draw against Collingwood (after being 50 points down early in the third).

You know next years fixture already?

No, he is on 279 games plus 21 = 300.

Now we are only at R1 and therefore he will play in R23 - which is 21 games away plus the bye we have.

Now this is all predicated on him not resting, if he does have rests then it could be later this year (assume we do possibly play finals and depends on number of rests) or early next year.

Anyone else hearing Kako might be an out for this week?

As if they weren't already going to struggle kicking a decent score without Langford or Wright... Guelfi also injured too. Would make this game a non negotiable must win if Kako is also out.

It should be mandatory when replying about a particular player to repeat the player's name, rather than "he". Sometimes have to backtrack through multiple posts to figure out who the heck we're talking about
Which player are you talking about, please?

Sometimes I have to backtrack through multiple posts to figure out who the heck you're talking about. :sneaky:

Watching 9 News in the background whilst working, it seems like media pieces backing in Curtin from the club so would hope that means he is safe from the axe.

I'd love to see Sid start and shuffle Cumming to HBF and Milera to sub.

But realistically, unchanged is fine, try and get Sid into the game at half time.

I think Sid would have more impact coming on mid way through the game than most of our other options so suspect he stays as sub
