Just give Nick the rising star now. In other news how thrilled are Norf with their number 1 pick? He seems like a tool.

Can I just say sorry. I threw in the towel in the game day thread after the Pickett goal. I got it wrong 😄
I made some regrettable statement and made a temporary exit, but impending victory and the hope that a memory can't be retained longer than a quarter by the average Collingwood poster, brought me back near the end. Pretended I'd been backing the team through thick and, especially, thin.

We understand - this is very normal behaviour - you have friends here!

Don't underestimate the fact that we beat them up a little also yesterday, I don't think they expected that. Melbourne don't like any sort of pressure and are kinda downhill skiers
Agree - Pickett run down and gang tackled in the first QTR would have been a huge wake up call to their whole team. Not sure I’ve seen him fail to burn off an opposition on a sustained sprint before.

Pickett would have had his confidence shattered, and played accordingly for the rest of the game.

Why was he selected to vote?

Booing imo was more disappointment for Cox missing out (In my area as a few had bets on Cox at 100-1 to win the medal). At the end of his speech Oliver was clapped.

Cox - intercept marks in defence. Brilliant and a strong desire to fight for everything.
ND - dead set one or two steps ahead of everyone. So calm under pressure.

Leppa is slowly starting to work his magic. The positioning and ability despite being outsized, to bring the ball to ground was great.

I also notice we are starting to use the chaos kick into the forward line (like what Richmond do). We still dont have the quality of smalls but I like the tactic.
One of 3 judges. The other two Lloyd and Ling had Cox BOG. Daicos had another good game and Mihocek was almost as influential as Cox.

Oliver’s game felt much like Parish’s on ANZAC day big numbers in the first half and then quelled. Don’t think his first half was as influential as Parish’s though.

Apparently he's only been to Frankston once and never ever been to the snow fields ...
That trip to Frankston was a real shame. It was in his youth, and being Frankston, the tainted air stunted his growth - stopping him from being 197cm and the best KPF of all time.

At the time I was probably emotional but I thought that Pickett goal should of been a 50 to Moore for being in the protected zone, but having seen it again i think Moore played on haha

He was in the protected zone, but legally. Moore played on before Pickett had had time to clear the protected zone.

Inspired voting by Ling not to give an automatic 3 to a fellow member of the God's Clowns Society.

No need for the Ranga Hate Speech

Collingwood has provided refuge to the Rang for many years

What a game, what a win!

Too many magnificent efforts to name, but my top three were Cox, Checkers and McCreery. I will admit that I thought we were screwed due to our inaccuracy, but the boys were on Melbourne like flies on crap for most of the game.

Due to the delay between the Fox Footy broadcast in the lounge, and my Kayo stream from my bedroom while in iso, I heard the joyous screams of my father telegraphing the play a few moments before I saw the vision myself.

I've watched the last half several times since last night, McCreery's pinpoint pass to Billy, his tackle on Lever earlier, and Cox's goal on the run were just superb. How good was IQ nailing Gawn?!?

Well our 'regeneration' is accelerating at warp speed.

This is completely unexpected, if anyone offered and 8-5 ledger by round 13 at the start of the year, you'd be suspicious of a scam!

This is a development year and that development is humming along as well as sydney's re rise.

I know I'm 'grounded' about our development and it's time line and don't expect what we've already achieved.

So I'm just gonna enjoy it.

We might just make finals, and that would be a massive massive confidence boost for the club as a whole, not just the youngsters.

One other thing that has gone unrecognised..... to get under Max Gawns skin so much that he feels obliged to gob off at the Collingwood interchange bench is a massive accomplishment.

Gawn is an awesome player, but he's allowed to go wherever he wants. More teams need to do what Richmond did with Lynch and Riewoldt and hit Gawn hard when he drops back to take intercept marks. Make him really earn it early on so he doesn't do it as much for the rest of the game.

I am still to make the leap of faith but one thing that has impressed me about the team this year, is the fact that they keep going and don't drop their heads no matter what the scoreboard says and no matter how ridiculous any umpire decision may be.

And Brody Mihocek continues to be one of the best ever pre season draft players ever picked up - he is a dynamo. What a great player - ditto Jack Crisp.
