Oh and my membership downgrade has nothing to do with Saints performances, would have gone long before now if that was the case.
I have personal reasons, and it isn't churlish or silly threats because something did or did not happen. Prefer not to go into them as I said it is my business and others whom I want to know.
Will forever be a Saints man, just not quite as big financially at the moment.

Anyway carry on. Go Saints
F me,

Nobody should be made accountable for not renewing a membership, I cancelled mine because of my back, and not for our terrible showing from the Saints these last few years, but I must admit if RTB comes on board, I might have to take harder drugs😷🤒😵‍💫😵

Just a few things from the past dozen pages or so.

In my opinion, a big part of it is those losses this year. Essington for example. The effort just was not there. But it was terribly similar to the losses we had in 2021 which were just plain unacceptable. Having that shyte carry over two seasons was somewhat alarming. Despite our ladder position you could tell we were still the same old flakes.

If the Fox family are finally tipping in then Bassett should be absolutely commended. I reckon almost every administration in my life time has tried to get them on board without success.

While this situation looks messy, it must be the right thing to have done. If we continued on this road for two more years and then changed, we would have the Tassie side coming in and we are stumbling through a few more years of comprimised drafts. Hawthorn had their "dynasty" on the back of comprimised drafts...
Paragraph one is exactly what I have been getting at for months however you articulated it so much better.

What a s**t post

Agreed, when was Lethlean ever a sex offender. Had a consensual extra marital affair that while unedifying, is between him and his family.
Jesus some on here are bellends

I wouldnt fwcking know!

campaigners
😓

Just out of curiosity
Ruttten was gone around August 21sih which was about round 22 going into 23 i think
Ross knocked back that job

Our finals campaign ended roughly two or so weeks before that ( even though a few of ua called it, funnily enough, when the bombers thumped us)

I reckon he was approached very early on when we started going downhill, someone realized the re signing was a mistake and took charge

Imo
I think his defense of StKilda on TV had a bit behind it in hindsight.

Power imbalances in terms of who's who in the affair. It's a bad look for good reason these days - Barnaby, Tudge, etc.
Not the end of the world however - thus he has a job with us. He's a good bloke Satan.

Can we delve back into 2011 which was Lyon's last year with us.

Finished sixth with 12 wins and a draw.
Lost the elimination final at the DOME to Sydney by 25 points.

That was our first saturday night loss at the dome since 2003.

1891 points for, 1677 against. 112.8%
The top three or four sides scored 500-700 more points through the season than we did, while matching the scores against.

This was a "No plan B" season and we were ringing alarm bells. There was a lot of belief however. The runs were on the board.

Bear in mind the list was mentally cooked. Most of them have all since said as much. The two losing Grand Final years had mentally broken them. Riewoldt describes it as being "scared to climb that mountain again. Scared of doing the level of work without the reward".

Sam Fisher won the B&F.

It took until round five to get a win on the board. Losing to Geelong in Rd1 by a point, drawing with Richmond in Rd 2, smacked by Essington in Rd 3 and the bye in Rd 4.

At Rd 10 we were 2 wins and a Draw. A diabolical first half of the year.

Second half of the year was obviously better. We started smashing sides and completely stopping them scoring. We didnt actually get into the eight until round 18 with only one more loss for the season against top of the table Collingwood by 29 points.

Going into the finals we were probably the form side of the comp, finally shitting the bed at home in the elim against Sydney.

We had work to do. Undeniably on a downward trajectory. The first half of the season was about as bad as it could get.

The list needed a refresh. The role playing GOP's we had needed to be turned over. We had to develop and most of us had some serious doubts regarding Lyon's ability to do that job.

Then he walked.

Sending us into a decade of middling mediocrity.

List looks pretty settled. Our core is at the right age bracket & there’s a few younger guys coming through that have improvement in them. To take the next step we need RTB to turn a few of our A/B- players into stars. King, Gresh, Steele…Higgins, Clark, Coffield, Wind, Owens, NAS have a lot of upside. The question is can anyone of them level up to elite?

With Ryder, Gears & Hanners retiring I wonder where our age demographic currently sits?

Oh did Luke Ball get a TER of 98 FROM XAVIER?? So much better than getting a TER of 98 from one of those sh**ty public schools 🙄
Chill mate, how many tradies come out of the most expensive private schools.

I’m a public school kid, I put no more stock in Xavier than I do in any other school but it goes with the point that he’s not a chippy, not a shot at public schools at all.

With tassie possibly coming into the league in the next 4-5 years, if you are ever going to reset and get everything rebuilt properly, now is the time. No point waiting 18 months, then really bottoming out then when all drafts will be diluted to a new side being gifted all the top talent and resources. This is what we did in 2011 and look where it has got us to the last decade, back to square one with nothing achieved. If we think Ross is the man to lead us, so be it, but do not royally stuff this up that we have no young talent and are bottoming out, while Ross ditches us again after a failed pursuit of a premiership. I actually think hawks have the right idea, get shit quickly, get all the best young kids in the land over the next 3-4 years and build a strong young core to contend in 5 years for a sustained period.

Is there anyone who can post a poll on who people think will be the next coach ?
Sorry - I don't know how and can't be ****ed finding out. I'm a bit slack.
Also happy to read the top 5 logical and factual reasons why so many think Lyon is the one or a done deal.

Okay...I will out myself.
I also got a TER from Xavier.
I was there in the early 90's and was a boarder from Country NSW.
I am also a chippie so if L.Ball is one too kudo's to him, it is a noble profession☺️

Weve established he is not but I’d much rather have a beer with you than a financial manager who went to Xavier even if he was an AFL footballer.

He then went to Freo and took them to their only ever grand final with a side that really wasn't that special

Not sure why we should judge him off one random year and forget everything else he did before and after that

And Lenny went down early that year didn’t he? Imagine two tight GF losses then that.
