Well McClure has certainly added fuel to the fire for the Carlton game this week.

Reckons Voss is coaching for his job at this stage and the playing group is fractured.

Hopefully we’re switched on. Backs to the wall games are pretty emotive.
I'd be leaving Cox in the VFL to build confidence for a while yet. At least another month. Has missed a lot of footy due to injury.

Whilst I mostly agree and i think I even posted the same ahead of Ess vs North team selection, in hindsight we probably would've lost the North game if we chose Bryan > Flip. Flip gives something on a loose ball contest, Bryan hasn't got that hard edge. I think Flip did a number on Goldstein last year didn't he? So maybe that played in the back of the coaches' minds.
Phillips lucky he wasn't the villain against Norf. Got the handpass off to D'Ambrosio rather than try and be creative himself and fluff it, his completely fluffed kick that Martin marked and goaled (maybe it was because of that kick that he handpassed off to Massimo) and his miss from 20m in the last quarter didnt cost us.

No. Absolutely not. We play that way against Carlton, and Carlton play the way they did last week we will win by 10 goals.

Some people here seem to be unable to see more than a score line. North played with more effort and intensity than they had for years, and we lifted to match them. There's not a lot of difference in the comp. A bottom team playing with intent will beat a top team in 1st gear every game. There we only two times we didn't play well, the second quarter with going inside 50 and converting, and the first half of the third quarter.

North would’ve beat the Blues by 60 points if they played each other on Sunday.

Cartons twin towers Curnow and McKay easily their biggest threat so I’d be inclined to bring in another tall defender in Baldwin

OUT: Phillips, Shiel, Snelling
IN: Baldwin, Massimo, 2MP

Ridley Zerk Baldwin
Redman Lav McGrath
Martin Hobbs Durham
Guelfi Langford Perkins
Stringer 2MP Menzie

Draper Caldwell Merrett

Bench: Heppell Hind Massimo Weideman
SUB: Snelling

We played Norths McKay into form last week - let’s not do the same for his brother at Carlton or it could spell big trouble…

I read somewhere he has given them license to run and gun. Shades of Truck last year 😕

You can bring in an extra defender but that still doesn’t create a match up for McKay. Zerk is the one but he’s severely underpowered. Massive chance for McKay to get back into form and kick a bag. And if he does suddenly click the Carlton midfield will also find purpose.

He’s gonna mark it a lot so let’s hope like hell his yips continue.

nah i dont see it

Norths pressure gauge for alot of the game was poor, so was ours.

The idea North played out of their skins is folly, we let them do it. Especially with 2 of their senior midfield players off with concussion.

Happy for people to see the silver lining, but we show up like that against Carlton. We will lose. Bookmark it.

This game just feels massive for so many reasons. I’ve been saying it for a few weeks now, but for me this is probably our biggest home and away game for the rest of the year.

Totally agree. This is a chance to put our boot on the throat of a team that's down and almost out - something we haven't been able to do in the past.

hard to gauge what hasn't transpired yet but this game is easily the biggest we have had for some time.

if we win this it is absolutely massive in the context on this season. We have a good remaining draw and locking ourselves into top 6 before the bye is utterly massive.

this is MUST win and against a side that is totally lacking confidence.

so important. We simply need to show up ready to play 4 qtrs. siren to siren
