If we could maintain our three quarter time leads, we would be easily top 4. But we haven't, so we aren't.

This really stings because it should have been a win, but at least the signs are there.
On the flip side, we are likely going to end with 12 wins for the year even after these 2 close losses to the pies and the GWS and GC games where we were over run in the last.. if we can turn that around next year and win these types of games we can easily get to 15-16 wins and look to finish inside the top 4.

In theory. But improvement isn't necessarily linear. We need to upgrade a few spots still.

Another preseason into our young kids and then adding a quality FA like redman and it will come. Games like today shows me that we are on the right track. If we can play like we did in the 3rd for longer periods we will be right up there.

Hope so. It's hard to be confident in the cub given its history.

Umpires aside, mixed feelings about this game.

Started well, apart from kicking goals.

From the 15 minute mark to half time some of the worst Footy we have played all year.

Third quarter our best quarter of the year.

Last quarter, a genuine arm wrestle. We took it to them, and should have won.

Dawson was massive.

Tex changed the game once he made Moore accountable.

Hinge was good in key moments.

My big negative is Murphy. This game was a Finals like intensity in the second half. He didn't register a stat in the second half. Had 74% ToG.

Games like today you find out who is good enough in the big games. He ain't it.

I also fear about Rankine in key moments.

The start killed us.

Some great signs. But we need to maintain our good Footy for longer.

Hopefully that comes as the guys mature.

Gee the umpire bashing is predictable and embarrassing. We had our chances, didn’t take them.

That’s as good an away performance as I can remember. Standing up to finals like pressure against the top side at the G. Coming from behind. Nobody can say we didn’t give it our all. We were just a shade of polish short.

Our best is absolutely good enough. We're on the right track. But will it be enough against a big Vic side at the MCG? No, because they get umpiring like that.
Exactly.

Best is good enough doesn't matter unless it's a level, fair playing field. Especially because we are forced to play at the MCG in a grand final
