There is a distinct possibility we lost both of those games to our cross town rival before a ball was even bounced.
Mouthy

Sick of the whole “we hate them” when they just sit back and get the job done.
Just another time we’ve been made to look totally stupid.
3 flags, 100 k membership , chasing greatness fund that has failed.
Not to mention the old China embarrassments.

What can you say, hey?

A great young list.
Very good list management.
Very average coaching.
Administration gentrifying for no good reason.
Awesome propaganda wing the Nazis would be proud of.

The boys will have to win in spite of the coaching and admin.
Its been like that for a while.

Groundhog day gets very disheartening after a while.

You know what happens every time we get this flat though? We go on a run and win back confidence, only to blow it again just when it starts to look good.

June 7 when asked what the "secret to success is" with Port winning (this is on live tv in front of the man who ultimately extended his tenure)

"(chuckles) Look I dunno exactly I mean the boys have just been playing really well (another nervous laugh) maybe David has something to do with that..."

I guess, so far it's done us okay

We're at the stage of groundhog Day where it isn't fun anymore and we just want to die

He flatout has absolutely no idea why we win or why we lose. The mentality aspect of coaching is completely foreign to him.

You can't tell me that if Port went to Hardwick with 5 years and the same money, he wouldn't be coaching Port Adelaide next year.

It's crazy.

The Suns is a seriously, seriously good list long term next year. I can see the attraction of getting them to play to their potential.

The only thing between the Gold Coast and a dynasty is the Gold Coast lifestyle eating away at the talent that ends up there.

With the AFL paying $1 million towards Hardwick's contract to ensure he ended up at the Suns we were never in that race.

They wanted him on the Gold Coast.

He wasn't silent, he spent ages doing everything he could to scapegoat the players who "let Kenny down". Slow motion replays of Connor Rozee and Ryan Burton squibbing contests, what I do agree he was silent on was the piss poor preparation for the match by the head coach.

And Cornes defended accusations that he was biased towards Port by citing his criticisms directed towards Ryan Burton i.e. the Power/Crows hatred.

He will throw anyone and everyone to the wolves to protect Hinkley and his brother.

Hang on, wasn't the argument for Hinkley the supposed connection between him and the players?

Yet Hinkley said nothing in defence of Burton.

Pathetic.

Nobody affiliated with the club in any capacity seems bothered to challenge Gerard Whateley and his characterisation of those members and fans who are roundly sick of Failbags McGee as a “lunatic fringe”, either.

“Unbelievably connected” indeed.

"The mission statement at Port Adelaide for the longest time has been “we exist to win premierships”. A statement confirmed by club CEO Mathew Richardson in his recent email to the members where he stated “finals and a top four finish aren’t the pass mark at Port Adelaide. We are all on the same page with this and know the ultimate measure of success are premierships”. In fact in 2021 when Richardson penned the “Chasing Greatness” strategic vision he went one step further by putting an ambitious timeline on this mission. 3 flags by 2025!

So how does this mission sit with the recent decision to once again extend the contract of senior coach Ken Hinley, the league record holder for the most seasons coached at a single club without making a grand final (the necessary precursor to winning a premiership)?"

Oh hello, whats this now?

Ken Hinley lol

I'm just going to leave this here as it's a very well, thought out post from a neutral supporter.

I don't think I have ever seen a more irrational supporter base than Port Adelaide fans in recent times.

Like him or loathe him, it is hard to deny that Ken Hinkley has been a very good coach over his tenure, with a superior winning percentage (60%) to a number of other universally admired coaches including Clarkson.

Although he hasn't taken the club to a Grand Final as yet, and the preliminary final loss to the Bulldogs was an absolute stinker, his overall record in finals hasn't been too bad. 5 wins and 5 losses, including 2 heartbreaking prelims against Richmond and Hawthorn, which with a bit of luck, could have easily gone the other way.

And realistically, even if they had have gotten over the line in any of the 3 prelims which they have contested, how many of those Grand finals against the Swans, Cats or Demons would they have realistically been likely to have won? In my view, none of them.

Their best chance would have no doubt been in 2020 against the Cats, but at best, you might argue that this would have been a 50/50 game for them.

Yet, the average Power supporter which you hear on the radio or see commenting online, seems to believe that they have (and have always had) one of the best lists in the game, and should have won, not 1, but multiple premierships under Ken.

Where does this such incredible detachment from reality stem from?

I'm assuming at least part of it is that a significant minority of their supporters still seem to think that they are competing in a league akin to the SANFL, where they bullied the competition for over a century and that Premierships are almost an entitlement.

What makes things even more absurd is that they are currently sitting third on the AFL ladder and have a very real chance to finish in the top 2. This would obviously give them the best possible run to the Grand Final, and a great opportunity to win a flag. But, are the supporters happy? Are they getting behind Ken? I think we all know the answer to those questions.

The situation is so devoid of sense, that I believe Ken could even win the premiership in 2023, and a certain number of nuffies would still be claiming it was really Josh Carr's flag and calling for Ken's head.

Cool man, thank you.
