June 7 when asked what the "secret to success is" with Port winning (this is on live tv in front of the man who ultimately extended his tenure)

"(chuckles) Look I dunno exactly I mean the boys have just been playing really well (another nervous laugh) maybe David has something to do with that..."

I guess, so far it's done us okay
Aww shucks.
Nyuk nyuk nyuk.
Ahh dunno how we does it, but somes aways it dang well happens.
Yee haw!

I'm just going to leave this here as it's a very well, thought out post from a neutral supporter.
Neutral supporter? Lol

My favourite part is the 'they're not in the sanfl anymore' take. Holy mother of ****. If I ever find myself in the dock charged with strangling some campaigner to death with my bare hands I guarentee it will because they have said this to me.
Literally no ****ing Port supporter has ever expected that we would waltz our way to an AFL grand final every second ****ing year, expecting to win most of them.
This is the laziest, stupidist take on Port supporters possible. What we do expect is that every one at the club cares about winning them and is actively doing every thing they can in pursuit of winning. Would that be a fair expectation of your club also?

Hinkley is a competent coach who is good a building relationships with players. But he, and the list he has built and rebuilt again over 11 long years, has shown time and time again that when it really matters they can't get the job done. It's not just bad luck, it's a pattern. And if David Koch and his board weren't such cowards they would have moved the coach on long ago, in the search for someone with the mental strength to get it done.
No other club in the history of the game has held on to an unsuccessful coach for as long as this. Why are we being villified for wanting to hold our club to the same standards that every other club gets to?

But anyway, quality troll. I'm sure I've given the sort of fun reaction you were hoping for

"Carbon neutral" after reading that drivel!

FMD what a brainless exposition, but I guess we have to take into account they know nothing about our club.

Maybe Koch could bring him down to the club for a year to learn about what they do there 🤣

You gotta love the "they're not in the SANFL anymore" rhetoric when literally no other club has had a unsuccessful coach for as long and no club is hunting him down - during a record winning streak in an end-of-contract year no less! We're not even asking for SANFL levels of success

Yet, the average Power supporter which you hear on the radio or see commenting online, seems to believe that they have (and have always had) one of the best lists in the game, and should have won, not 1, but multiple premierships under Ken.
Wrong. We think we should have won zero premierships under Ken. That's the problem.

Power girl is handed a 1 and 1/2 page piece of journal writing from a student. She had told the class to keep iT to 6 to 8 lines max. Thinks i have to read and provide some learning point for what is probably crapola! Could take 10 to 15 monutes.
Decides that an 8 percent wage increase if fully justified for extra administration work.

a conditional proviso is that classroom teachers do earn their pay.

Decides that hinkley is overpaid and under worked with minimum of responsibilities.
Your writing history seems consistent with someone with multiple personalities. I do sympathise.

A great point that should be cutting through but isn’t.

13 game winning streak, out of contract, two head coaching positions already vacant.

“Wait, have I got this thing on silent?”

Um, no Ken.

“Wow, I hadn’t thought of it that way. I guess we are all deluded morons who are terminally irrational for expecting to ever see Port succeed again in our lifetimes”

I’d argue Sydney 14 and Geelong 2020 were ours for the taking, Dees 21 no. However if you make the GF you’re a chance.

We’ll never know, but in 2014 Robbie Gray would’ve been on the first line of betting for the Norm,

In 2020 I feel like we’d worked Geelong out after that Qualifying Final (albeit they’d smashed us in Queensland a couple of months before),

And before the Bulldogs’ battery died like an iPhone3 after 20 minutes’ browsing, they were 19 points up 12 minutes into Q3 of that Grand Final.

But like with 02/03, it’s all coulda-shoulda-wouldas and that gilded invitation to immortality is just ash in the breeze.

My favourite part is how this person uses "Ken Hinkley wouldn't have coached a grand final winning team even if the team had made it" as an argument FOR Ken Hinkley. You know that's our point, right bro?

He's right about one thing. If we do end up winning the flag I firmly believe it will be because of Josh Carr!

Essendon's performance was very similar to us in 2019 when Ben Brown kicked 10 and we lost by 90 with finals on the line.

Hinkley wasn't sacked after that despite being in his 7th season as coach

It doesn't matter if you can, and do, do all the great shit in the world, if you

CAN'T DO IT WHEN IT COUNTS.

Tell us again, Whately and Kornes, how he's "coaching as well as he ever has !!121!1!!!" ... how the **** would you actually know that, until the end of Sept?

Fingers and all other extremities crossed, waiting for a miracle, but in all likelihood, just more of the same old disappointment.

Very much so, except as far as I know Essendon didn’t choose to leave their tallest, quickest defender and #1 ruckman in the reserves.

Seriously though — how did he skate through after that one?

It went from “how far will Port go in September?!” to “Ken has done a wonderful job sacrificing his career to play such a young team hasn’t he!” and an unsolicited Gerard Whateley blowtorch at upset fans real quick.
