I really think Fantasia comes in. Could turn a game on it’s head

OUT: Hayes, McEntee, Jonas, Lord
IN: Lycett, Fantasia, McKenzie, Marshall
SUB: Evans

They won’t drop Lord.

With only an undercooked Lycett they will use Finlayson as a supporting ruck like they did against Richmond.

Then we really would be left with Marshall at times - unless they go small.

I’m more worried about our forward line finishing off the work from the mids, we have to take every simple chance we get.

Can also see Marshall getting some concussion 1 min into the first.

I like the idea of Drew going to Neale as soon as he runs through the banner.

The sight of Drew standing alongside him during the national anthem brings back the memories of that infamous Port v Norwood GF when Tim Evans went toe to toe with that Norwood flog

Brisbane haven’t lost there all year - can’t see them dropping a final for their first loss.
Their recent form isn't that great besides that win against Collingwood, and even that was mainly due to Collingwood having key players out.

They've just got over the line against Geelong, Adelaide and Saints at home, freo away and smacked by Gold Coast.

they haven't lost their all year but recent form suggests they are due to. Not to mention their shocking record at home in finals.

Sutcliffe🤦‍♂️ That was embarrassing! Drew has a wiser more composed head on his shoulders, thank god.

If Lycett can pull a rabbit out of the hat & perform like he did against Tim English, we’ll win. We have to get the game on our terms & deny the Lions easy forward entries. Send Drew to Neale the moment he runs through the banner, & keep it that way until the final siren. As for JHF, you just feel the kid was born for the month of September, he’s the big wildcard IMO.
I was thinking this last night.
12 months ago, Jason was stuck in North Melb watching from the outside, thinking that his football was good enough to star in finals, and North wasn't getting him there any time soon.
He must be in such a different head space this week, preparing to attack finals like a pit bull. As long as Boak is there guiding that aggression on field, he can take games apart in a quarter.

2021: Only lost one home game (Rnd 1) until finals, when they lost a home semi to go out in straight sets
2020: Won every home game, including a home QF, only to get absolutely belted off the park in a home prelim
2019: One home loss (rnd 5), then got belted in a home QF, and lost the subsequent home semi

I get your point, but their home finals losses came against eventual grand finalists or premiers who were humming. It's brave hearing all this optimism, and credit to you all who still have it in you to give us a chance.... I expect this is Brisbane's year to at least make a GF and I don't see us tripping them up along the way.

I can't see us kicking a decent score. And I can't see us holding back a 4/5 goal blitz from Brisbane which will be game over. The image of Cameron ghost riding his Harley will be my last thought as I pass out on Saturday night.

I reckon this final will be reminiscent of the 2014 EF, where we play like men possessed. Brisbane will be better than Richmond that day, which will keep the margin down to 30-40. I've just got a feeling we are going to come out swinging for this match.

If we make it through to a home prelim, the jitters may commence then, but i think we will play confidently in this match.

There is a chance we get blown away. If Brisbane jump us early, get the crowd up, get goals & confidence into Cameron/ Daniher etc early the wheels could fall off.

But I am expecting a game similar to last Port v Collingwood game. We just need to take our chances going forward. The top 4 is pretty even.

Well, yeh. Thats the nature of finishing top 4, you play against the eventual premier/grand finalist.

We beat Geelong in the QF in 2020 who then smacked Brisbane in the PF so you can hardly say they were humming.

In 2021 they got rolled in straight sets against an undermanned Bulldogs side who (yes beat us) got smacked in the GF.

I think Dunkley will do a lock down on Rozee, Robertson will do a full tag on Butters. Drew will do a lock down on Neale.

Brisbane will win the midfield get quick ball to their forwards and we will get flogged. Hinkley will do his nut on the boundary and the Brisbane crowd will get to see what a fraud Daddy is. He will then return to the box.

Get ready for a Western Bulldogs Prelim style meltdown. Hope I'm wrong because we have the capacity to win if Hinkley stays out of the way and we can break the tags that will come our way. Nobody has tried it because they've been waiting for finals.
