Hello Eagles fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

Dogs traded for Pick 4 46 51 F3 this year netted 10 17 F1. What's the dogs F1? Could be anything from 8-15

Why not

Eagles F1 F3 37 for crows 10 14 F1. Crows F1 could also be anything 8-15.

Or

Eagles F1 23 for Dee's 6 11 F1.
Dee's F1 will depend on Oliver!!!!

2023
1 10 14 23 58
Or
1 6 11 37 58

2024
Still have a F1.

That was done in trade week, if we go asking for a trade on draft night because a player we like has slid then the other team has all the leverage and they won't be doing us any favours.

If we could get 6, 11 and a F1 out of it then it could be worth it, I just don't think it's a realistic trade on draft night.

Picking two key backs and a ruck with our current list would be such a blunder lol.
In isolation it would be disappointing because it won't fix the current imbalances.
However I see where Phil's coming from - he's coming from the rebuilding a list angle. This is the year for talls with few blue chip mids. Knock over the tall needs, get them developing early, and then load up on mids over the next 2-3 years. The mids will be ready the same time as the earlier drafted talls.
By 2026 or so the rebuild should be pretty much done and we can start to push.

One draft won't fix the list. One will start to look better early, but the other could reap the rewards long term

Twomey suggesting we may be interested in Roberts. Looks a vanilla type selection, similar player to Duggan but perhaps with more inclination to run and carry.

The Curtin highlights are seriously impressive. Smarts, ball handling, marking ability, tackling, kicking to advantage - he has it all. Easy to forget he's the same height as Oscar Allen but moves like a mid. The pair of them in tandem in our forward line would be a sight to behold down the track.

We should be doing whatever it takes to get Reid and Curtin.

We have clear deficiencies that need to be addressed before adding key backs. I can accept adding one but adding two will leave us with 7 key backs on the list which is ridiculous when only two take the field. Leaves massive holes on our list elsewhere. The two we draft wont even be able to play key back at wafl level.

So looking at what that does in its totality with its effect on next year too:

Instead of 1, 2, 23, 37 we have 1, 7, 13, 16.

I don’t like that

Depends on how highly the club rates Curtin. If they see him as a top 3 talent then the difference between 2 and 7 is negligible.

Whilst 13 and 16 are clearly better than 23 and 37. That’s not even a debate

Depends on how you view the gap between Curtin and the top handful of next years draft

With how Tyler welsh and Jed Walters are built like trucks.

I do wonder and hope in the future key all key forward in the draft start their nab combine built like trucks.

Surely nutrition and diet would have been conveyed to these young key forwards early on.

Would be wonderful if Cadman breed of keyforwards being skinny at combine is extinct

Our F1 is going to be pick 1 2 or 3. A team like Melbourne will arrogant enough to think theyre good enough for another flag. For them, it gets them the next top 3 midfielder. The demand isn't a one way street.

I've just had another watch and I can see the mid in him. He's going to be a tough match up at AFL level, a bit like Marcus Bontempelli.

So Matt Flynn was drafted in 2015 and has been on GWS list since then but has only played 33 games. I presume that that is mostly because of injury and not because of lack of talent or else he would not have been on their list for so many years whilst playing so little senior football. They would have delisted him a long time ago unless they thought he had too much talent to delist. I wonder what his injury problems were/have been and how confident we can be that they are behind him and were mostly just bad luck? How confident can we be that his body can withstand regular AFL footy?

Yep agreed, and that’s entirely reasonable. All depends on something we don’t know and that’s where the club rates Curtin. Again they make good most often on picking best talent and only going WA if it’s equitable for that pick.

I guess I’m just of the camp that rates him around 7-10 and don’t think he’ll end up a mid, has shown most off half back. I’d prefer a top end mid next draft and think with the young list we’ve already been building to this point that our draft hands this year and next look decent enough (you know besides when you rate it against a poverty club that got a bunch for free)

He was behind Mummy, then Preuss, then Briggs, all who were pretty damn good, along with injuries. Flynn will be more than servicable

Dunno why but a few pics from the updated Twomey Phantom made me laugh.

Impressive except for the fact that, like almost every left footer, he’s horrendously one sided.

No better example than that second last highlight from the 1:50 mark where he has a leading Claremont player with a break on his opponent that he needs to hit with a 20 metre kick on his non-preferred right foot but has to go back into traffic and nearly gets tackled on the goal line because he wants his left foot. Other examples in those highlights where he should have used his right foot but didn’t.

I've said it before, I'll say it again.

We need to take Reid to have SOMETHING to get excited about watching this team.

Reid with Long, Hewett and Ginbey and any other youngsters who wanna stamp themselves a career will be entertaining at least.

Relax mate. After speaking.to Pants 100% sure we are taking Reid.
Also I'm happy to trade into get a sliding Curtin which I'm 99% sure is going to happen
