So long as vermicelli, rotham, withinumb, Williams are in the team we are crap.

Sheed looks like it's beyond him now, Ryan just needs game time

I have 2 questions. What is "at high speed" when all i hear about id how slow Edwards is. And why is sheed also in it.
Ok 3 questions.
Why does the scale change, or the arrow increase when you change from def to attack and our speed drops.

Jeez Ryan has some board credits.

These out of form players all deserve to be dropped to the WAFL but LIAM RYAN? He was a premiership player, mark of the year winner, even All-Australian four years ago. Hasn't played in 12 months, played 1.5 games in the WAFL out of position before being rushed back, where he looks lazy and disinterested, but he's far too good for the WAFL, he just needs to be gifted game time in the AFL!

MAKES SENSE!

Blind hatred rarely makes sense;)

I would argue that Noah Long's injury might have saved him.

Don't have the app open now, but it does tell you in the app if you click a little information button or something similar.

From memory high speed is anything over 18km/h and a sprint is an effort over 24km/h that is sustained for one or two seconds.

Repeat sprints are those that happen within a minute of each other (from memory).

Yea I also thought it was a soft reversal. was a little shove, player took a dive. dissapointing, but the cripps hate is misplaced. The big dissapointment is the efforts put in by Ryan, the lack of intensity from Sheed

I dont. he jumper punched him hard 3-4 times, the guy didnt even flop. watch it again

I don't hate Flyin' Ryan, he's one of my favourite players.

But he's out of form and should be treated like every other player if we are to have selection integrity, something we've been crying out for for years.

Our small forwards have been our weakest link all year.

Ryan's a massive concern. Double down and let him come good.

Or egg on the face and boited to WAFL?

I don't like this credits business at all.
I think Ryan is a bit heavy at the moment - not fat mind you, prob just muscles - but he should stay slim, its how he made his game work. Look how well Waterman and McGovern are going after trimming down.

For that matter, Darling could lose a couple kegs too.

To have lost by one goal with the pressure Essendon applied all game and losing our best midfield bull for over a quarter wasn't too bad.
A brain fart from Crippa costing us an extremely important goal when we were charging just destroyed our momentum and spirits but we still kept going.

Thought all in all it was a cracking effort from the guys, even with the passengers who who didn't contribute much.

Agree. Winning Q3&Q4 on the back of more travel and less rest - against a (mostly) good side was a great effort - for a young side. And even though we were constantly playing catch up Ess never really got too far ahead.

Agree re Cripps - not so much the lost goal itself but that it killed our momentum - it’s that which might have cost us the game.

Although I think Ess were the better team this is one we might just have pinched. I guess good for percentage and good for draft position - a Clayton’s win?

You could argue there were countless turnovers and brain fades in the game that cost us the match. Cripps was just the most the most obvious one. Arguably Hunt and Maric in would've got us over the line? Who knows..people seem more angry we didn't get a win over Essendon, seems to be a lot of hate there and taking that hate out on Cripps?

You can see the gap between our best footy and our worst is shortening. The derby game was almost sublime as a team effort; the pressure, clearances, skills and run. This game we got picked apart and out pressured; they blocked the corridor run and forced us wide in a defensive game that was boring and tedious at times.

The great thing is we persevered and clawed our way back in a close exciting and sometimes ugly 4th quarter. This is definite progress and green shoots! But the game revealed our weaknesses again when constant pressure is applied, along with some players not up to it or without the necessary skills or impact.

Their superior midfield did the rest. Fast, clean and everywhere at once it seemed. They helped shut down TK, Reid and Yeo to some extent, they were certainly Reid conscious. A good learning curve for Reid. We can probably expect more of this. Reid plays for frees a lot and strangely is always getting tackled around the neck?? I'm not saying he is, but I hope he's not just looking for the spekky seagull moves - he seems to do a lot of hard grunt work as well. But they were all over him most of the game (the attempted mark in the goal square was telling)

It's a mistake to think we can play every game at the level of the Derby, at this stage; or we'll win a lot more games than last year. Bringing in the youth is a good thing, but you can often see how little impact they have at AFL level. We bring in one new player and everyone has expectations, then there's often little impact and we move onto the next young player thinking they're going to make a difference..it all takes time.

Now we're starting to get injuries, which had to happen sooner or later, and this adds to our weekly struggle to maintain consistency (but is all part of football) and our swing in form. This week against the Pies will be telling with our key outs and an away trip. Hoping to see a team effort for four quarters, not to cave in, that's a win, progress, against the odds.

Simmo hinted at younger inclusions next week. He also said after last game that Sheed would return to Wafl to get more touch, then would come straight back in!? That was before injuries...

Ryan is a concern, too good for Wafl(?), underdone for AFL? Lacks pace and confidence, he's a a confidence player...

Sheed was a late in, wasnt meant to play. It was Sheed, Gaff or H.Edwards replacing Hunt, Sheed probably the better of the 3
