Markov. Long. McStay and Richards trained with the AFLW girls this morning.
What will McStay’s recovery period have been when he comes back to football? It’s exciting and I hope it goes well but it just seems quicker than other similar injuries and the return to football time.

If he comes back in round 20 which is his goal, which would be close to 8 months.

Harrison is a natural foward. I'd leave him there. Jiath I'd leave for now. Depends who is available thou

Yes, it would be criminal to move Harrison to HB. He plays like a cross between Swanny and Wellingham - you don’t waste that natural scoring power in the backline.

He really is isn't he? I'm so excited AND nervous for him.

I reckon we need to temper our excitement.

It’s not even 8 months since McStay did his ACL. No matter how fit he is, there’s still a strong chance that he doesn’t play this season. He’s a big, heavy bloke, so the force through his knee from jumping and turning is much greater than if, for instance, it had been Bobby Hill who had suffered the injury.

10-12 months out from contact sport is pretty normal after an ACL. (I’ve done one myself and so too has one of my sons a few weeks ago.)

sr36 is a good bloke but I just can't get away from the fact that he's a school teacher. Even at my ripe old age of 62, he still feels the need to correct my mistakes.

Not another school teacher! Primary, Secondary, and what are your disciplines teaching wise sr36

My old man would be approaching 60 odd. '63 is his vintage. Unfortunately, his dementia from birth caused him to follow the Blose 🤡

The last police report described me as Tasmanian in appearance, but Victoria is actually to blame.

Always a Victorian's fault... don't worry, Sam Newman said it best, when he said South Australia was proof Tasmanians could swim! 🤣

Haha well yeah I live here, so I'm not spoilt with always going to the G unfortunately.

The port win last year was magnificent though - I gave it to every idiot I saw stealing our colours and given the context of the result I went home that night and forked out $4.5k for GF tickets. I've lived by the sword with this team and they've paid me back in spades. Still haven't heard anything louder than the Jamie sealer in 2022 though 🖤🤍

That's what I call a gamble paying off! My hedonistic lizard brain is firing on all cylinders now, sympathising with you scraping the bottom of the barrel, in hope the Pies a) make the GF and b) even win the thing!

I have a great yarn about Billy's sealer, but, the BIGGEST roar I heard, and I may have iterated it here previously, was when I was strangling the snake in the disabled john next to my food outlet at the Richmond PF. The whole MCG SHOOK, and you couldn't hear the stream hit the water (don't worry, I didn't look very closely!). That was when Coxy clunked his first. Imagine how loud it was after the third goal? WOWEE! I couldn't even bark instructions to my 2IC, who was standing right next to me in the shop!

I hope we see more incredible moments. I would have loved to stick around for the siren Sunday just gone. But, enjoying the aquarium with my daughter was memorable. I now realise how tiring it is, to waddle like a penguin. 0/10 would not recommend.

I don't have discipline, but I mainly teach English as a Second Language in secondary, however that often involves teaching other subjects.

Mac Andrew was extremely impressive against Jackson today.

So I wouldn't be banking on Kreuger or even Checkers first up doing much. It is going to be up to our small to mid size forwards. I will be interested to see whether we play a Schultz on Andrew and just try to negate him?

Gold Coast are 7-0 at home. This will be an epic clash.
Let’s analyse that shall we? They have beaten at home.

Richmond in opening round.
Adelaide by a goal
Hawthorn when they were playing shit.
West Coast
North Melbourne before they turned their form around
Essendon- first decent scalp

The other home win against the cats was in Darwin & every team is beating Geelong since.

I think we will get the job done.

Seems set up for us to win imo

We've always travelled well, under basically every one of our coaches for the last 20 years.

Getting key players back, rested up, they're travelling back from Perth

You’re running out of time on this considering he’ll be in full training either this week or next and playing VFL footy within the next month. From here he’d need a setback or be nowhere near it mentally to not make it back to the top level in 2024.
