I will say, not everyone is going to be Chris Fagan.

I imagine Silvers would've spoken to Chris about him, Probably David Noble too.
Correct, but people jumping off the cliff because he isn't a well known name is a bit odd, especially since he would've needed endorsements from the likes of Fagan to even get this job. If Fagan is endorsing him for a promotion, then I see no reason to go against that opinion.

If a club is announcing a re-signing at the B&F - especially for a relatively low profile player - you don’t leave it to late or the end of the night IMO. Something to kick off proceedings or at the latest with CEO/Chairmans speeches

No announcement today means very likely successful outcome for us tomorrow I feel.

Fingers crossed.

You'd think, if Peatling has agreed to stay, why hold off the announcement for 24 hours .....surely you announce at the B & F ?

To his credit it sounds like Tim Silvers might have instigated it by himself.

What that says for the rest of the footy dept.......
What footy department...

Welcome to my post from a few hours ago...

But he’s coaching our coach, not the team. Seems a very odd coaching director teaching a 5 year senior coach how to coach!
It's the role Fagan stepped into in 2008 after Clarko had 3 years at the helm.

I suspect we are readying ourselves for a new head coach at some point next year.

‘Right hand man’ sounds like Senior assistant to me especially in knowledge that Burns has been demoted

Sounds more like ‘Senior assistant’ than ‘coaching director’ until we here an official announcement

Perhaps we are also getting a ‘coaching director ‘

Actually sounds like a good move from afar but time will tell
That was my mail… senior assistant from one of the GF teams (I thought it had to be Dew) AND a director of coaches.

So we have Davis- seems like a good addition.

Wright still a shot for the senior gig?

Do we still have Montgomery in the pipeline?

Would be a monumental change to the off-field group if those all came off!!

We have ANB, Cumming and still possibly Peatling as players … and the trade period hasn’t started yet!!

Bit better than last year :)

If he was being announced as a line coach you'd find the reaction would be completely different.

The reality is he's coming into a role (Director of Coaching) that he's arguably not completely qualified for.

That's the issue people have with this.

The big clubs have no issue pulling high quality candidates while we have to resort to plucking someone from obscurity, putting him into the position and hoping that he'll deliver.

We essentially did the same thing with Adam Kelly.

I don't think that's what the role is
And he may not be, but there’s plenty on here supporting the appointment even if he is.

If the journo is wrong and he isn’t I’m happy with him as senior assistant.

If he is our coaching director, I want posters to be honest with themselves, do you honestly think he was our first, second, third, fourth choice and take into account all the media reports of how we are struggling to fill it and take into account how hard it is for us to attract experienced quality people. We’ve clearly settled for what we could get and his CV backs that up.

As for Nicks, I hope he is our coaching director and he’s been advised by someone who hasn’t even coached their own afl team, what an insult and it’s what he deserves.

You're struggling to actually read the fact that it's essentially the same path Chris Fagan has taken.

Speaking of unpolished turds…

Again

Have a look at Fagans CV and tell.me what he did before becoming coaching director at Hasthorn
