Although Cam has been disappointing, he is probably not as bad as many posters seem to believe. While I doubt he will ever reach a high level he provides a back up to the aging Jolly. Witts and Ceglar should get some gametime but are not yet ready to ruck for a full AFL game.
Unless the club...
Was unsure about him until the game up in Sydney. Has good speed, skills and poise and could develop into a high class player. His attitude seems to bode well for the future.
Lake and Lynch both fill needs for the team recruiting them and are short term solutions.
Difference is that Collingwood used Free Agency and Hawthorn spent 2 draft picks.
When can this be done - are there specific dates? Probably we should wait until most trades are done to see who else is available. Seaby would be an upgrade on Wood as a backup ruck but still not a high priority.
Great trade by the Dogs. Get rid of a player with dodgy fitness and attitude - even if he has high ability - who will be eligible for free trade next year.
Instead of a maximum 3 years but possibly only 1 year they get 2 draft picks to build their future team.
Agree with this. We need players who can break the lines with speed or kicking skills.
The probable loss of Wellingham should be used as an opportunity to trade for one of these players and later draft picks should focus on these as we now seem to have an abundance of tall prospects.
Grew up watching this team and Baggie was easily my favourite.
Barrie Robran however was the best player I've seen - his grace and skill always shone out.
Same where I was sitting. Even the Geelong supporters were showing concern and trying to figure out how serious the injury was. Never good to see a superstar go down.
Re: 3 out whos comming in this week? (predictions)
Agree with the 3 suggested above but Ben Johnson could also be a possible replacement if fully fit.
Hoping Fasolo will get his debut - had good reviews recently in the 2s and its always exciting to see a new player progress. Will probably be...
Agree with you totally.
Tried using it for the first time this year to follow West Coast and Sydney match. So slow and difficult to navigate I turned it off and went back to the FanFooty blog.
The main AFL site has also taken a step backwards in its recent changes.
Taz would only be backup for the senior team and then retire in 2 years time. Whats the point of trading for him. If we do want him, wait and use our last pick if no other teams want him.
I would have preferred only one medal given out for the year. The clear winner would be Daisy Thomas, probably with Goddard second. Hayes was best on ground for the first week but couldn't repeat his heroics.
The replay had a host of players who could have got votes - Pendles, Steele...
I stated on one thread that Beams was the days biggest disappointment.
This does not mean that he should be dropped or that his effort was poor. just that he had a poor game. His performances over 2 years have raised high expectations. A new week., a new game, I hope he can have a greater...
I liked how they even had so called entertainment before the match just like the rubbish normally served up by the AFL.
Some better work on clearances still needs more practice.
The folly of bombing the ball long into the St Kilda defensive Zone was well highlighted and we need to find...
Please accept my apologies for my actions on Saturday, Guilty on all counts! I also must admit to wearing black and white in a public display oy my loyalties. Very Common indeed!
ps I'll be equally common this Saturday and hopefully right through the weekend so I better apologise now...
Had a good view from the wing, saw Goddard setting himself for the leap and was never going to miss. Great mark from a great player imposing himself on the game when it really matters.
Best atmosphere at a Grand Final I have experienced since gettting my full AFL membership jn 2002. Both clubs supporters should be congratulated for giving full voice for the entire game. There was no feeling of neutral theatre goers clogging up the seats, just football lovers caught up in a...
The pre-match entertainment was a joke, what was clever or entertaining about a tethered balloon.
Play the national anthem at the right tempo so the crowd can join in if they want to.
Half time should be returned to the Aus kick kids just like every other match. The sight of their...
Good review.
Caf did a good defensive job on Gilbert on the first half - not sure of his second half match up after Gilbert went forward.
Blair did enough to hold his place.
Beams was perhaps the biggest disappointment of the day. The whole midfield needs to lift next week as Hayes killed...
Chamberlain, Ryan & Roseberry have been named. Probably the best 3 umpires this year imo.
Razor Ray has improved this year and no longer fills me with dread.

Getting excited now! Attended losses in 1981, 2002, 2003. Missed 1990 when I couldnt afford tickets so about time I saw us win the Cup.
Agree. Cant be dropped after tonights game and Sidebottom is probably the unlucky one to miss out. Good to have real competition for spots in the team.
I also got my full membership in 2002. Great seats in 02 and 03. I have attended most Grand Finals since but missed out last year after trying to book on the phone or internet. Should have lined up but work gets in the way sometimes.
Age is irrelevant. Ability, form and fitness will be the deciding factors in picking the best team for each match.
Competition to make the team helps motivate all players to work hard so having more than just 22 players capable of playing finals is important.
