EHollands has increased his running capacity this pre-season. Could it be a combination of Doc/Eli as the best wings alongside Acres? Still see Doc and Oli competing against each other as our best multi-position options.(interchange players)

I like the look of Mots in the brief snippets of vision that I've noticed, his 2nd and 3rd efforts stand out . It's like he's realised that talent alone doesn't work at this level. Zak and Mots are going to be a lively combination next year. Will Durds be able to outwork Fog as the 3rd piece...

Be interesting to see if Levi Ashcroft is selected in Brissy's best 22, or will he be expected to develop in the 2's despite being a contender for pick 1 in this years draft.

Our defenders and defensive depth are fine...unless we lose Weiters for a lengthy period. Their issues are compounded by our poor pressure in the FWD50 and a slow midfield. But we are recruiting kids to resolve these issues, just gotta give them some game time.

SDurds reminds me of OMac, both have bodies that are suitable for VFL level loads. But when training/game speed is increased to AFL levels they're not up to it anymore. Both blokes would have been fine backups/2nd KPD for Weiters...but it's time to look at other options.

It's harsh, but fair. Just like Pitto and Kennedy last year, I think George and Doc would/should be expecting to be replaced with kids like Cow, Lord, Jagga and Billy before the end of '25.

I just hope our 'best side' isn't decided purely on pre season performances and locked in, which appears to be our previous pattern. We need to add youth when the opportunity presents throughout the season if improvement and team results are to be expected.

Newey the Mongrel is one of my favourite Blues, but isn't he a bit of a tortoise with good game reading skills? I'd prefer to see Lord in the guts if his pre season running form continues.

I'd like to see Moir get another chance at some stage next year. But I think they'll go with a third marking option initially(probably JSOS). It's not an easy position to play consistently well for a young kid

A lot of posters going for Moir as our 3rd FWD Tall over both JSOS and Kemp.(only 2 games, like Lord, 1 x sub) I think he'll have to wait in line to get his chance next season.

Do the rules allow teams to select SSP players other than the one's that are nominated for a pre season trial? Otherwise why even have a limit? We could just pretend that a dozen players are potentially playing for a VFL position, and then pick the best candidates for our AFL list instead.

I agree with both the above posts. That's why some form of change is required to reach the next level We've moved on the regular injured group, traded slowies like Kennedy and Owies. The next step is to select more young faster players.(this might be replacing George at some stage next season)

It would be an interesting 'battle' between Lord and George if Lord's gametime and fitness improved markedly next season. Lord's hands were dynamic in the few games he was given, might give him the edge over George in releasing more outside run and creating scoring opportunities? The overall...

Except for 4 absolute floggings, I thought Luke Power did a sterling job with our injury riddled VFL side. Most of our other losses were fairly close and could've gone either way.

I think we'd be too tall(not enough mobility and pressure) if we went with Harry, Charlie, TDK and Liam in the one side. He'd need to be the 3rd tall lead up type due to his slim build. The question would be "are Kemp, Moir and JSOS and HOK better options.' I'm all in on selecting though.

Demon's landing Langford and Lindsay will be a good future watch as to which club were the '24 eventual draft winners.
