Traded Jason Horne-Francis [to Port Adelaide in multi-club trade]

They have already come and said Rankine is their priority. There's no bidding war here. Personally I would much rather pay this sort of price for a Parish / Dunkley. Anything more than 2x 1sts is a ludicrous price for an unproven midfielder with attitude issues. JHF does have a higher ceiling...

Traded Brodie Grundy [Traded to Melbourne for #27]

No. Melbourne wouldn't commit to Grundy just in case the Jackson deal falls apart, so they would want to retain some flexibility. They can't have all of Gawn, Grundy and Jackson on the list at the same time. If they take on Grundy's salary now, Jackson would have to go, which makes Melbourne...

Traded Brodie Grundy [Traded to Melbourne for #27]

??? This makes literally no sense Melbourne need to confirm the Jackson deal before they deal for Grundy. We need to do our due diligence on Fiorni / Mitchell to make sure the cash is going somewhere. How was it possible for this to be done today?

Traded Brodie Grundy [Traded to Melbourne for #27]

What do you mean haha the list managers have literally come out and said we will address this trade towards the end - implying we can complete other acquisitions before Grundy's cap is moved off.

Traded Tom Mitchell - Traded to Collingwood as part of 3-way trade (details tbc)

We have not committed to retain leverage in the Grundy trade. It's becoming clear that we have enough cap to fit in Hill, Frampton and Mcstay. But Mitchell / Fiorni are dependent on whether we can clear Grundy's salary.
  6. N

Traded Tim Taranto [Traded to Richmond for #12 and #19]

Fair trade and good fit for Richmond. Taranto is a B+ grade accumulator that applies good defensive pressure. Kicking is one of the worst in the AFL, has a low contested possession and clearance ratio for an inside midfielder, which are 2 factors holding him back. Also severely lacks...

Traded Brodie Grundy [Traded to Melbourne for #27]

Interesting that this trade is low priority for us given the salary cap he is currently taking up. Must mean we can accommodate Hill, Frampton, Mcstay even if the Grundy trade doesn't go through. However, it is also likely we can't trade in either or both of Fiorni and Mitchell without...

    Traded Josh Dunkley - [Traded with F3 (Melb), F3 to Brisbane for #21, F1, F2, F4 (Geel)]

Wish he nominated us. Would be more than happy to give 2x 1st rounders. Exceptional talent, career has been compromised at WBD due to lack of opportunity.

Recommitted Paddy Dow [OOC 2023] explored his options, but stayed

Unpopular opinion but I would give him a shot. Can't be worse than the Brown brothers in terms of list spot utilisation. Would have to come at basement price though.

Traded Jason Horne-Francis [to Port Adelaide in multi-club trade]

Why are people still using the "but we rejected a better offer last year" argument? JHF's value has declined materially. His attitude is evidently a problem. His lack of outside accumulation is concerning. To be fair the initial offer last year was more than generous in the first place. 2x...

    Recommitted Ian 'Bobby' Hill + R3 (40) to Collingwood for R3 (43) + F2

Horrible value for Collingwood. Hill has potential but has shown virtually nothing to date. Couldn't even break into a bottom 3 side in the AFL. I suspect this is us repaying the favour for GWS not bidding on Daicos last year.

    Traded Josh Dunkley - [Traded with F3 (Melb), F3 to Brisbane for #21, F1, F2, F4 (Geel)]

I hope we trade 2x 1sts for Dunkley and maybe a second back. Dunkley is that perfect big-bodied inside mid with defensive pressure we need to facilitate N Daicos, J Daicos, R Mcinnis, F Macrae which are all damaging mids on the softer side. Perfect replacement for the role Jack Crisp is...

Recommitted Bailey Dale signs 5 year deal

Has no weakness to his game. Even defensively, he's more sound compared to others that play the same role.
  21. N

    Recommitted James Worpel [OOC 2023]

One of the worst midfielders in the comp, virtually no potential whatsoever. Not worth a list spot.

    Review 2022 Mid season review

We have beaten 3 of the top 5... Considering we were expected to be a bottom 3 side, definitely an A-/A for the 1st half of the season.

List Mgmt. COLLINGWOOD Trade and F/A Discussion

One of the worst arguments I have ever heard. Which of the top players are a good kick? Patrick Cripps? Clayton Oliver? Ollie Wines? Which of the 2 examples I mentioned were good kicks? Brodie? Lyons? If the player in discussion has great kicking skills in addition to being a contested beast...

List Mgmt. COLLINGWOOD Trade and F/A Discussion

Yeah we should target Paddy Dow, his inside clearance work will complement the outside class of Daicos, Macrae, etc perfectly. Probably wouldn't cost more than a late 2nd/early 3rd on mediocre AFL salary either. Similar case to Lyons/Brodie, clear talent but underutilised.

Club Focus North Melbourne 2022 - Logue, Tucker, Sheezel, Wardlaw, George, Harvey, Drury, Free, Howe, Turner

Purely from a drafting perspective, sure. But that's why you have the trading period right? Plenty of suitors for North's talented midfielders, they should be learning from GWS' mistake and optimise team balance.

Club Focus North Melbourne 2022 - Logue, Tucker, Sheezel, Wardlaw, George, Harvey, Drury, Free, Howe, Turner

Huge investment in mids with all their top end draft picks - JHF, Thomas, Simpkin, LDU, Powell, Phillips. With that kind of investment you need your midfield to dominate, which they aren't, mostly because they are still young and are just not ready. Severely unbalanced list, but the silver...
  28. N

Recommitted Bailey Smith [signed until 2024]

Yeah because whoever critises Walsh must be biased/salty :rolleyes:. Wasn't even calling him out, the other 2 are just players with higher potential. But now that we are on this topic, I'm sure you've realised too, Walsh is an absolute liability at centre bounces, ranked 83rd in the...
