Toast Round 6 = Collingwood 123-81 Port Adelaide

And like Bucks one of the few with socks pulled up - subconsciously makes it more noticeable I reckon. JHF like Bucks surprisingly strong overhead mark. Bucks a better kick obviously but at same age I’d say JHF probably has Bucks for power, Bucks probably faster. Bucks got stronger and slower...

Fixture 2024 fixture - first game away to GWS?

I’d like Thursday night games TBH. As long as the Friday night games are good and maybe Sun late I don’t care who the teams are. I’ll watch the Pies whenever they play. Have sympathy for AFL and broadcasters, as a neutral in big timeslots if not Pies just want a good game to watch

I would’ve thought pontification by definition would be in Latin but I learnt something today about the Catholic Church on Bigfooty PS if the 2nd Vatican Council happened in the 1960s and the first one happened in the 1860s, and there were none before or after in the history of the church, that...

I agree. I actually can’t believe how quickly this is spiralling. There were rumours for years but it really feels like last few months it has rapidly become crisis, and even now we probably know half the story.

    Player Watch Brayden Maynard

BT is rapidly turning into Rex Hunt where he thinks he himself rather than the game is the entertainment. Doesn’t bother to learn player names etc As much as Huddo can over-egg it he’s still an absolute pro after all these years, and he still knows the game is the hero not him. Roaming Brian...

I still get stuck thinking of Cameron as a weedy little quick guy but look a second time and he’s clearly done a huge amount of work in the gym. He’s probably not one who puts on muscle easily but take a look at his biceps, he’s a hell of a lot stronger than you’d expect for a quick forward...

I loved Graeme Wright as a player and was always a legend, but surely he’s in AFL legend status now yeah? His playing career, time at Hawthorn and now again the rejuvenation of pies, what a body of work

    Player Watch Billy Frampton

Yeah fair and I forgot about the two dopey holding ruck frees. Didn’t feel like Andrews impacted much though. I’m surprised he had 8 intercepts, compared to the earlier games I’ve seen Andrews play where he’s dominated I thought Frampton did enough. I’m more worried about Mihocek tbh, his last...

I love the fact that he’s not just super quick and skillful but also loves to tackle and doesn’t mind contact. He’s one of our best kicks both at goal and field (at pace). 23 yo If he builds his tank he could be spectacular outside mid / wing. And if not he’s still got tools that most can...

Howe had a very good finals series. I thought he was a bit shaky late last year and after the broken arm thought he might be done (and he might be now by choice tbh), but his last few weeks he’s been super steady and important. Respect to Crisp too - very poor start to the year but big in finals.

Certified Legendary Thread 🏆 COLLINGWOOD 2023 PREMIERS 🏆

Agree. Those who were bashing Mitchell second half of the year clearly forgot how bloody frustrating it was to watch us get belted out of clearances last year. Mitchell’s ability to win in and under and also manage the clock at stoppages at the end of games without giving away free kicks is...

    Player Watch Billy Frampton

He did his job, Andrew’s did nothing and he can tear teams apart. Agreed dropped a couple marks he should have taken. We shouldn’t forget how he helped us keep winning that period when Cox, Cameron, Moore, and McStay were all injured. His role in the ruck and defence when needed was huge. We...

I thought he was zero chance of distance from there, particularly when he went on his right - he usually goes left when trying to get extra distance. Couldn’t believe it sailed through easily. What a legend. After a couple ordinary years he had a career best year I reckon, amazing.

    Autopsy Round 13 = Melbourne 66-62 Collingwood

Yeah despite the numbers Melbourne smashed us in (effective) centre clearances, they took it out so cleanly so many times.

    Autopsy Round 13 = Melbourne 66-62 Collingwood

Against teams like Melb who don’t have 2x big forwards I’d have tried Frampton in the ruck with Cox. Our forward line couldn’t halve a marking contest today. Mihocek playing behind all day, AJ dropping basic marks or being nowhere near the ball. McStay straight in after the bye. Elliott would...

Best Collingwood Team Made Up Of Players From My Era of Watching

Good call Williams and Buckley kicking long goals was such a highlight in a tough era for us Imagine Williams in our team today, his style would be perfect. That is one thing we don’t have atm, long kicking mid/winger. First world problems :-) That was the one thing I really liked about...

    VFL Pies v bullants

It’s funny isn’t it. Remember a lot of us (myself included) were having similar thoughts when Darcy Moore took himself off one game when he thought he’d done a hammy but actually hadn’t, after he’d done a few previously. He could barely get through a game either for a while. Let’s hope Kreuger...

Strategy Changes & Pre-match Discussion - Round 13 vs. Melbourne, MCG Mon 12/06, 3:20pm BIG FREEZE

Depends who we're playing a bit. He's very handy to have against Lynch, Hawkins, McKay eg those teams with 2x big forwards. We looked way undersized last year in those cases when Howe was playing on the 2nd big. Would've liked to have seen him have a run in the ruck at some point yesterday -...

NO TROLLS Hawthorn Racism Review - Sensitive issues discussed. Part 3

Cyril was Hawthorns highest paid player, 800k per year by reports. Would be at least 4x Burt’s wage. Cyril is a legend and Burt is coming across like an idiot. Clarko is clearly better resourced than the other families. I don’t have a problem with the families asking for money. They said in...

Game Day Round 10: Collingwood v Carlton, Sunday 21 May, 3.20pm

Ah yeah I see what you mean It’s unbelievable how many shots McKay has missed. It’s so demoralising for fans/team mates to see an awesome mark then an inconceivable miss from 20m - as we all remember from the Travis Cloke era Do you reckon they should play McKay back like Richmond did with...
