Analysis System, buy in and talent

This has been my favourite read on Big Footy for a long time. Everyone's comments are fair and valid. Thanks to all for their input.

    Roast Recruiters

Have drafted and traded in a lot of players with ordinary foot skills and decision making. Our list management is the worst in the AFL as we are so shallow in the KP department.

Game Day NAB Challenge - Collingwood vs Western Bulldogs (Etihad - 1.10pm)

Skill errors will happen when low energy levels from being sick or didn't you know that?

Game Day NAB Challenge - Collingwood vs Western Bulldogs (Etihad - 1.10pm)

As I stated last night. Up to 20 players crook this week. This is a nothing game. Just get through without injuries. Better than this happening round 1. Jack Crisp will go off at half time. He has no run. Their energy levels are zapped and this affects the whole game. Most it you need to relax.

Unofficial Preview NAB 3: Collingwood v Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium 1:10pm (Pies squad added to OP)

I heard tonight that up to 20 players have been hit by the bug. Expect some players to miss and others look flat.

    Player Watch Darcy Moore

Watching him get separation from his opponent most of the day was a highlight. Him running away from his opponents was a rare sight. I am glad he made those errors. That will drive him over the summer to improve his kicking and decision making on the run.

    Player Watch Jordan De Goey

Hine did say he has great scope for improvement. He has given us the glimpses into what we are to see from him once he has 3-4 full pre-seasons under his belt. He is a natural ball hunter with the smarts to go with it. JDG will be the general in the midfield for us for a long time.

    Is this 2014 repeating! !??

I think there are more positives for 2015 and the negatives are much the same. 2015 positives are the development of the kids, the inclusions of Crisp and Varcoe. 2015 negatives are Reid and Freeman injuries. We have undervalued the loss of Beams although this has been offset for 10 plus years...

    Player Watch Jack Crisp

In time he could avg higher plus he is a metres gained type of footballer as he showed in the first half of the season. His run and carry will continue to improve.
  17. magpie90

    Player Watch Jack Crisp

This is his first full season in the big time. He seems to have tired which is expected. We all expect so much more but in reality a lot of our kids are tiring and need at least 3 more pre-seasons. 11 players under 50 games and 4 players in single figures. Crisp has shown us that his future is...

    Player Watch Darcy Moore

I have never been more happy for a 6 disposal game. He also had 4 marks in that. His competitiveness and desire are amazing. Wait til he develops his body. We have won the 2014 draft just with him.

Player Watch Jesse White (Retired 2017)

So you are happy with the ball in hand of frost and brown? They are useless and other clubs notice. Brown elects to handball when it is time to kick because he and the football world know he is a below avg kick. There is a reason frost is still a rookie and it is his kicking and decision making...

Player Watch Jesse White (Retired 2017)

I said in another thread that would it be an option to use White down back when ole is fit. Has all the attributes and uses the ball better and is a better decision maker than what we already have down there. He has the height, leg speed and hits the packs hard. He doesn't need to take the...

Drop Witts. We were so slow
  22. magpie90

    Matthew Scharenberg

He was drafted with the view of him becoming a midfielder down the track. I agree 100% with you on this one. With a full pre-season we might see him get some opportunity in there sooner than later.

Unofficial Preview Changes V Carlton (Reid, Blair, Sinkers & Marsh in, four omitted or rested, see OP for team)

Is it just me or would putting White to CHB be a viable move. We lack good field kicking and decision making from the back half from our talls. Brown and Frost are ordinary uses of the ball. With White he is athletic enough and hits packs hard and his field kicking and decision making is a lot...

    Player Watch Darcy Moore

Darcy WILL be a superstar. We just watched the beginning of greatness. Did a Collingwood player just kick 5 straight and not look like missing? He has a great chance to build on his efforts today over the next 2 weeks.

Autopsy Post game v Bulldogs, Rd 17. Magpies down again (sad face)

Grundy, Moore, De Goey and Maynard were all either very good or doing what is expected of them. Pendles, Sidey and Swanny did what we have come to expect of them. What was evident was our skill level and lack of footskills and secision making from the back half. There are far too many avg kicks...

Preview Changes V Port Adelaide (team in OP, no change, Grundy, BK and Schazza emergencies)

I have it on good authority from the voices in head that Scharenberg will be playing this week.

    Toast Jarrod Witts

I was worried at the start of the game with Grundy out and coming up against the big Mummy, however Wittsy rucked the best I have seen him. We were able to get first use of the ball. With him and Grundy I am just ticking off each game they play. I am always looking at the big picture with these...

Player Watch Marley Williams (Traded to North 2016)

I felt he had a slower start to the year but in the last 6 or so games he has taken his play to the next level. His hardness has always been a standout for me and he has added more assured run and carry whilst choosing the correct options. Close to BOG for me today. Keep it up Marley you champ...

Analysis Tom Langdon - time for a spell son.

I am not doubting what he has done so far in his 2nd season. He seems a little slower with his decision making and executing the skill the last few weeks. From where I am watching it seems like he needs more intensity in his game. For a guy who hasn't played 2s it might be just the catalyst to...
