With Gumby possibly missing R1+ who would be a good 94k rookie to take his place?
The obvious picks would be Walker and Brown, are there any others who will get a game?

And to TCFH, Fox Sports just reported that Essendon are saying Myers should be fit for R1.

Well there is Grant aswell, but he probably doesn't have that good scoring potential. If you want to pay a bit more Yarran should play most games and Ziebell, well im sure you've heard enough about him on here.
My unique pick in the fwd line is Simon Hogan, he scores massive in supercoach points and according to the Cats fans he will should be safe in the side for atleast the first few rounds. But I'm definately jumping on board as will many other wise supercoachers.
But its your call, hope i helped.

How about Kane Cornes? Thinking about putting him in my midfield, are there better options around his price. Was thinking cousins or kerr as they are likely to go up in price but Cornes just seems a touch above.

Also Simon Goodwin? Is he fit? In form?

Thanks heaps

At St Kilda's season launch last night, Ross Lyon apparently said that Zac Dawson will be elevated and will start Round 1 on Barry Hall. He won't be a huge point scorer, but at a bargain price of 87k, he's on my bench.

I figured that might happen. Might be interesting considering all the chip around that will no doubt happen in that game. He might get a few junk points.

Gibbs hopes for Cuz tag

....headline from AFL.com.au

A tagging role for Gibbs........OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IIRC last year - Carlton vs Sydney late in the year, he managed to keep Goodes to something ridiculous like <10 touches and manage to score 100+ himself in SC...food for thought...?

i have 330k to spend on my 5th midfielder. i was thinking tuck? or should i go someone cheaper to make some $$ i already have rich on my field so probably not another rookie??

Im in a similar situation nad have put Brent Reilly in, he has been around a while now and after a injured plagued 2008 i tihnk he could have a solid year playing through the midfield. Im not sure if Tuck is in Hawthorns best 22, but for the start of the season he should be in the team

Domenic Cassisi?

Unfashionable, but continues to get the job done. Despite the amount of midfielders at Port there's a lot of ball handling there. Plus he's had few problems with injury, unlike someone like Salopek.

Cale Morton seems to be a name that I rarely see. Rubbish or is everyone foxing?

Mitch Robinson, I've had him in my team for quite a while now. Was wondering though is he the automatic exclusion in round 3 when Nick Stevens has finished serving his suspension?

Yeah tend to agree that Mich Robinson may make way for Stevens when he comes back, might be safter picking Beams or Anthony on your bench instead.

What does everyone think about having Spangher form West Coast as a Grimes replacement? Seem to remember him posting a couple of decent scores last year when playing on the wing.

Crazy thought? :D

Spangher is a decent option. Played all the pre-season games and will definitely make you money. My preference would still be for Hill if you don't already have him.

I'm thinking of changing Gibbs to one of Hayes or Ball. What are peoples thoughts on both the St Kilda players. Ball has certainly had a great pre-season.

Maybe Haynes but not Ball as I just don't trust his injury history.

Already have Hill in my team dude, he is my 6th defender with Grimes on the bench. Not sure if I feel comfortable carrying Grimes for 5 weeks or to bite the bullet and pick Spanghers and Mash. :D

What about Collier from the Bears? He looks like a handy wee lad at a similar price.

Lenny has been injury-prone occasionally as well remember. The thing about Ball is he's a lunatic, and that's what gets him hurt sometimes. I don't think he's even heard the word fear, let alone ever felt it. That is also the reason why he can give you some seriously good scores- he doesn't get masses of uncontested possessions because he's too busy in the middle of things racking up the contested possies. If you have the, erm, balls to take him, there's a good chance you'll be laughing.

dane swan is more suited to dt dude still scores well but i wld prob look for som1 else..

i got cox and hille for my rucks i tried effortlessy to upgrade hille to petrie i just cant do it.. u guys think hille is still alright compared to petrie??

Utterly unscientific, but Hille looks like he's about to get injured. Petrie does not.

Hille can really grab the stats, but I doubt he's the emerging giant of the game that some say he is.

Thus, go for the Dish

What about Trav Cloke. How will he go this season? Worth the money?
Had a good preseason and is still only young. Could really come on this year?

I am a Collingwood supporter and don't have 1 Collingwood player in my side. I reckon they won't make the eight this year and I am not a fan of Travis Cloke. Had him in my side last year and he didn't do very well. I wouldn't buy him.

I dont think morton will improve much on last year, he will be ok but i dont think worth having in your side. What are thoughts on Brent Reilly?
