Meant josh

What did Finey say about him?
I remember some posters on this thread last year were mad keen on him. But he's barely been mentioned on here this year as a possible target.

Was the bloke who works for the age. Said clubs are enquiring about him again

Oh, Rohan Conolly...thanks for that. Not specifically about the Saints.

Speaking of GWS players, what's gone on with Stephen Coniglio? Don't think he should be playing in the NEAFL; has shown consistent performances in the AFL and is pretty underrated. No idea on contract and probably wouldn't come to the Saints being from Perth.

Jeez the fact that they can afford to play him in the reserves...

I was shocked when he wasn't picked on the weekend as well as he's been comfortably in their best 22, but I think he's coming back from an injury and was a bit underdone.

No

Go after a gun

You get Carlisle and HGoddard as def

Bruce and Paddy mcc as fwds

Get best big mid possible

Most sides don't have 2 power fwds and 2 power defenders.
Hawks dont
Swans dont
West Coast dont
Pies dont
Cats Do

Imho you have the ends just chase pure class in your mids. Your so called average mids and flankers will look 100 times better when surrounded by class

Nice one Toxic! Absolutely agree. 2 a grade elite classy mids is what we need.

We must get a mid gun with our first round pick at the end of this year whether it be via a trade or the draft. I think we'll get around pick 6 and have heard from others who are more qualified than me that this years' top 10 are pretty darn good.

Add a free agent gun mid, (most likely 2017 as GWS need to finalise their list size that year and they have a number of guns coming out of contract ahem Dylan Shiel ahem) and we'll be looking very handy!!

I'll bite (leaving out Riewoldt and Fisher due to age concerns);

KPF
Us: Bruce, McCartin, Membrey.
Them: Stringer, Boyd, Redpath.

KPD
Us: Carlisle, Goddard, Coughlan, Lee, Delaney.
Them: Adams, Collins, Roberts.

Maybe we have them overall, but their young midfield is a fair distance ahead of ours presently; observe...

Mids (under 28)
Us: Steven, Armitage, Ross, Dunstan, Weller, Billings, Newnes, Sinclair, Freeman, Gresham, Acres, Curren, Minchington, Lonie, O'Kearney, Saunders.

Them: Bontempelli, Liberatore, Stevens, Wallis, Hunter, Macrae, Honeychurch, Hrovat, Jong, Daniel, Smith, Hamilton, Dale, Dunkley, Williams.
Rucks?

For fun - and any Dogs supporters that have got out of their respective yards are welcome to comment - I've had a dip at the respective '25-and-under' sides as of right now.

Makes for some interesting reading.

We're behind in our rebuild - particularly in midfield - I think that's a given. I don't think the gaps as big as some are making out though.

Have at it.

The Dogs have weapons all over the field.

They're a definite finals side and a sneaky top 4 chance with a chunk of luck IMO.

I have zero doubt they'll sneak a flag sooner rather than later.

Maybe. Heard an interesting call on SEN this morning with the caller musing that "extreme" type gameplans like the Bulldogs and on the other spectrum Freo, don't win grandfinals.

Don't know if I subscribe to that view however the gameplan needs to be able to handle finals pressure. I think the Bulldogs can if they keep their players on the park.

It is a high intensity game played at breakneck pace. Over 22 rounds it may tire the players out, especially with 90 interchange limits. there will be games where they cop an injury or two (like against us) and they will run out of gas like we did on Sunday.

Have they got the defensive gameplan to switch to plan B and defend and slow up the game?

We are in kilometre the first 2 kilometres of the marathon, fast starters are not always the one that crosses the line.

2009.
