By giving them next years first for Prestia. That is more than fair. Throw in a player too if they want like Lennon, a former pick 12.

Why would next years be more fair? Are you assuming we finish in the top four?

I'm not sure I said that. I think we can be much more aggressive in a re-build/re-generate or whatever you want to call it. I find it fascinating a player like Jack Steele wants to go the saints. They played in a premiership you know. Going straight past us. The ******* saints.

And their list (Saints) had a core to build around, we haven't had that for three generations.

And the trade out / delist everything that "won't be a part of our next flag" and start again is the dees plan (which imploded and infected the club with a tanking mentality)

Yeah...I'd keep Jack and trade Cotch and get a lower pick.

You won't get lower. He'd only go to a club contending, which rules out gc, and gws cap is bursting. Dons wont do 1, and blues need 5 for their annual gws recruitment drive

May be the right move now.
Back ourself in to do better than this year. If we finish top 8 then it's a fair pick for Prestia.
Buuuut it could backfire hard if we flop again.
You cannot look at it like that though. Yes we could do worse and finish bottom two. My argument is that if we really think that is where we are going to head, we should forget about Prestia and other costly imports and just go to the draft.

At some stage you have to believe you will improve.

Which they got through.........the draft? Your argument only applies to Melbourne which you are fixated on. Saints, Adelaide, WCE, Doggies are all other examples that could be used. I'm not sure why you can't use them as the yardstick other than a team that has failed.

None of them went their list with a flamethrower. Only Melbourne did

Meanwhile the Hawks have cracked on with exiting a bona fide club champion despite having way less time to organise stuff...if time is a good measure of being prepared.

Chalk and cheese...

But the Hawks have way less to lose than the Tigers in the current state of play. Three-peats buy their list management team a whole lot of good faith and scope to take enormous risks.

They've traded out their standing b&f winner for essentially nothing without barely a murmur of discontent from members or the media. Let's face it, if we'd pulled the same stunt to get hold of the precociously talented but high-injury-risk O'Meara there'd be some very doubting questions being asked in the media, social and otherwise.

As you said, it's chalk and cheese.

Nope. You can trade into lower picks. Just ask the Hawks.

I'm not saying nuke the list in one year. Be smart and do it over several. Rome wasn't built in a day but if you plan, have a vision built the capability and execute you can do it like those teams - Melbourne is the exception that proves the rule. don't do it like a dumb campaigner, be smart about it like the others I've mentioned and it can be done

Schultz, plays like poo then as soon as he leaves plays like a superstar.
Welcome to the Richmond Double Agent Football Club.
Vickery after Richmond tried and tried will now be a champ and the media will rub our noses in it again.
The World is so full of campaigners.
