I'm not saying nuke the list in one year. Be smart and do it over several. Rome wasn't built in a day but if you plan, have a vision built the capability and execute you can do it like those teams - Melbourne is the exception that proves the rule. don't do it like a dumb campaigner, be smart about it like the others I've mentioned and it can be done

If you're looking at delisting 18 odd in one year (which most here have advocated), it is the nuclear option.

Off memory we moved on 15 in the first year of the dimma period, then 11 and I think 10. That included trades and retirements. People are wanting harder than that, and that made us the worst team since fitzroy

This year and maybe next. Why not the year after?

Don't think you can

Also not all clubs can trade a first round 2017 because of the trade limiter, so your pool of possibilities remains tight

We didn't force the Hawks to do anything. Ty was RFA. It might surprise you to know that Richmond didn't negotiate his contract with Hawthorn.

Also, my comment was probably more indicating my frustration of our trade history over the last couple years that has the distinct feeling of repeating itself this year.
Well actually we did, they were going to offer 3 years at 400k, of which we said we would match that, so it better be 2 @ 500k to trigger the compo we want. I get the angst about a period of trade periods, but that is being disingenuous to this time.

I havent said that once. There is no way in the world that could happen. But if the club was to say, hey we tried we took it as far as we could, we are now rebuilding I'd be onboard with that. That in my mind would be a far better appreciation of the reality we're in then trading first rounders for players like Prestia year in, year out.

By giving them next years first for Prestia. That is more than fair. Throw in a player too if they want like Lennon, a former pick 12.

The same Lennon no club wants a bar of?
There's a big difference between AFL and the make believe world of Big Footy.
I have read hundreds of pots about getting a pair of second rounders for Conca and Lennon. No one wants them.
It's a surprise to some, but we don't exactly have a lot of trade currency within our list unless we part with our top five of a young kid like Rioli or Markov.

I'm amazed at the inside information people have. Flea, you're a genius, well connected trade whisperer. I'm sorry I've stirred you up as much as I have over the last few months.

Given your inside mail is so on the money and you have such amazing connections in the trade world, is there anything else you can share? Preferably (I'm just speaking for myself here) before the trade actually happens?

I said like. The main thing is next years first pick.
Hold them to that.

That has been widely reported as what actually happened.....

For blokes whinging, you will never be happy...

Fact is, #6 is too much for Prestia, even if GC demand it.
Value in the market is now proven by T Mitchell = 14

Prestia and Mitchell are similar in value, an argument could be made for either to who is worth more, but reality is, price tag on Prestia should be 12-18 range. If we pay more than his value we lose. SIMPLE. Thats why their are winners and losers in trade week.

We have a hole board who still crack the shits that we gave up 19 for Yarran. Yet we all want to jump a trade that we lose on value just to puff our chests out to other supporters to say "look at us, we got it done". THis isn't high school anymore, what others supporters think doesn't really matter.

Liken it to the stockmarket, due to the unkown risk factor of future returns, where value can only be account for in the present.
You really want to buy Share X, you know the value per share is around $15 per share, however, the market is asking you to buy it at $20, do you buy it... Heck no, you evaluation and market value says even though the share will be in your portfolio, and you may get an immediate return, the fact your paying over market value says any potential return is cancelled out by trying to get back the "overs" you paid in the first place.

So what do you do, you invest your $15 on a different share that you can buy for $15, market value suggests you should pay $15 and while the immediate return may be smaller in comparison, longer value return clearly shows this is a better option.

For those not following, Prestia is the first option, pick 6 is the second option.

I would LOVE Prestia at the club, but not at the cost of pick 6. I wouldn't do it with my money and I dont expect the club to do it with their assets either.

By who? You actually think they did a deal for three years, signed the contract then quickly re-did the paper work after it was accidentally posted on the Hawks website and the Tigers saw it, then called Hawks and said what about our compo pick?

Please, FFS

Completely agree. I far prefer when a white grrl twerks/booty pops, it's more relatable plus you just know they put the work in to compensate.

You're flying off the handle a bit, flea never claimed to have insider info.

I'm not sure what you mean by that but I liked it anyway

Why the hell didn't we deal with the Hawks?
We could've trumped saints pick #10 with our pick #6.
On traded Hawks future first for Prestia and then had picks #23 and #36 to use along with #27.

Saints got a killer deal there. Point wise #23 and #36 is worth just 50 less than pick 10. So they pretty much got Hawks first rounder for nothing.

Even if Hawks won the flag the 3 picks would've still been 600 more points that #6.
