I wonder if we are buying him out or if we have agreed to a trade in principal with Freo?

Hawks first and our 2018 first for Fyfe and (Insert player/pick here*) ala Geelong and Adelaide to stop the Crows from matching for Danger.

*Balic, Weller, Collins, Taberner?

Its a certainty we won't be buying anyone out. Buying him out of what?

Nat Fyfe in 2017 -

Disposals - 26.8
Contested - 15.2
Efficiency - .752
Clearances - 6.0

In 6 games so far for after missing a season with a broken leg. Yeah, goes alright. Will look great in the #24

I'll believe it when I see it though.

dont disagree with that at all, which is why i find the 2 year extension to wright a bit frustrating. but if i'm chosing between lonie and wright, i'm really choosing between depth if i dont see both players on the list long term or part of our best 22. when it comes to depth i would rather a multi positional player who is hard at it and can compete against a player who's stuck in one position and has concerns over his ability to compete 1 on 1/hold his ground

I reckon guys like Lonie have to be given time and Wright isn't holding up a spot, there are guys who will go before him. Even Adelaide were still trying to find mids last year and in the meantime others stepped up. The Crows are peaking pretty early but look incredible ATM. They may be more vulnerable to injuries than others too which might be why they wanted mids. If Betts and Lynch went down they almost plummet 5 or 6 positions also and Rory is almost Danger like as well so wouldn't want to lose him.

And he's having a pretty ordinary season compared to his past....imagine what he's like in full flight.

So people already melting because we might get Fyfe?

Can't see to many melts about getting Fyfe, more the loose lips at the club. If it's true you won't get many people upset by it unless they follow the purple peril.

FYFE TO SAINTS?

A Perth radio station has claimed Brownlow medallist Nat Fyfe has agreed a multi-million dollar deal to play with St Kilda from next AFL season.

The Dockers have declined to comment on the veracity of the claim, attributed to a loose-lipped Saints board member. Brad Fitzgerald, co-host of the ‘Carmen & Fitzi’ program on WA-based radio station 96FM, said he had a “massive scoop” on the future of the 2015 Brownlow medallist.

“The offer is worth $1.5 million a season and it is - as far as legally wise - it’s virtually accepted,” he said on Monday morning.

“He can’t sign yet but it’s basically a done deal and he is going to St Kilda.”

Fitzgerald said he had been told the news by a Saints executive. “I can’t name names but this has come from a high-ranking board member of St Kilda,” he said.
If its legit. It's very disappointing that it was leaked. Not only disapointing but it could backfire. Its Kangarooesque.
Plus the figure? 1.5? Fmd.

The #24?

He can take the #7, may aswell delist Dunstan if we get Fyfe

If true it is not a good look for the club.
How so? Buddy ablett Scully Dangerfield where all done deals much in the same vein. Be prepared for months of no comments as this is the new AFL world we live in. We cannot get in trouble as this is how the AFL prefers it to be done rather then nrl styled media conferences with players announcing they are leaving during the year

I'm banking it now -thanks bud.

Is Fyfe practically a done deal as the radio says mate?

i highly doubt the leak came from a saints board member... fyfe is down on form, freo win 3 in a row then lose on the weekend, approaching the mid way mark of the season

i'd say some dockers supporting media types are trying to shake the apple out of the tree

I don't recall any board members leaking info to the media about those deals though.

I'm hoping it's this. But hoping he is coming to the Saints still.

I don't know if it is DONE. But I've been confident ever since I said it late last year. I will say a few things. This report is about 1 month earlier then I expected to hear something. It clearly puts freo in a position where they have to re-sign him or come clean and say he isn't staying to there fans. The other thing is that this is not an industry secret. Very well known in AFL circles.

As much as I want to believe this. To me it looks like an insignificant journo in WA picking one of the possible outcomes for Fyfe and throwing it out there so if it does eventuate he can big note himself saying "I told you first"

Not saying it won't happen by years end but I seriously doubt a Saints exec has told this bloke anything.
