AFL Website has Jamie Cox on SEN stating that we are into Dustin Martin and Josh Kelly and not in to Fyfe. Could be all smoke and mirrors though. I don't know what to believe!

A quote never came from the club. Fox news ran this article in March stating 'sources'. Could have been a tactical bum steer and Jake Niall took the bait.

Was very bullish on K.Collins (WB) in the draft as a big bodied backman - has had both hips scraped out since joining the dogs and his family are a bit concerned about how loose he's getting off field living over in a share house in the west.
Might be time to head back over this side of the bay Kieran?

I'm surprised the off field activity of a number of dogs players is not attracting more attention. Theyre pretty open about going on 2 day benders after the game etc.

Mick Warner mentioned on On The Couch that offer or offers are now around the $12mil mark for 9 years for Kelly. Sounds like both us and North may be around that mark now, but definitely North, from what he said.

We have no chance of signing him but would bloody love Dom Sheed in our team. Was big on him in his draft year.

Doesn't solve our run and carry issue, but reckon he is going to be a very good footballer sooner rather than later.

At this rate Kelly is going to cost 1.5m per year, by the end of the year. I think it is too much given he will cost 2 first round picks also. North are so desperate I think they will pay just about anything at this point.

I would actually rather offer Dusty 1.8m if it meant Tiger could not match. Sure it's way over the top financially, but Dusty is still the better player (although it is close). Keeping both our first rounders would be amazing.

Giving up a bucket load of cash + 2 picks is a big frigging deal. Makes me far more nervous than just giving up heaps of cash. Let's not do a Hawthorn, we don't have 4 flags in 10 to justify our stupidity.

In my ladder predictor it comes down to us or them for 8th. They have a fairly easy run from here which will exaggerate where their list truly is at. If nothing else, making finals this year will absolve the club of the farce that was cutting 4 champs from the list.

Cox didn't state anything of the kind in that article:

"However, when asked about Richmond's Dustin Martin and Giant Josh Kelly, Cox acknowledged the Saints were interested in luring established talent to the club."

"We've been out there publicly to say that this stage of our list development that we'll happily enter these discussions, but (negotiations) won't play out publicly," he said.

I take that 2nd paragraph as a generalisation about "established talent". He didn't confirm or deny that we're into Dusty.

Yes to Dusty? Excellent for on-field but the media will brutalise us with any indiscretions he has.

Have any of you ever seen him at kids footy clinics? He doesn't do autographs, he doesn't smile or interact, he stays on his phone most the time. I would be happy to have him the but the club have to be smart because he is not a personable guy. Richmond supporters (kids) told me themselves they hope he leaves and turned on him after he gave them donuts at a recent footy clinic.

Personally I don't care what he does, just don't send him out to do the whole kids stuff... I just know that this doesn't get covered much now that he is at Richmond but you can bet your ass that it will be all over the radios and papers if he comes to the red, white and black.
