I really like the look of Fischer McAsey.

This is what I would do:

5 - McAsey
11 (Papley) - Daniher
23 - Best kid available
41 - Best kid available
Free Agent - Cameron Ellis-Yolmen
Apparently the club have shown some interest in him. To what extent I don't know.

I'll be pissed if we essentially swapped Papley for Daniher. If we used the Jones pick and a fringe player I could accept that.

If he leaves as a free agent they will get pick 20 something probably

We give them cap space and a pick

They should thank us
But we are dealing with Dodoro who is probably too stubborn and pig headed to realise that. Hopefully common sense prevails and they realise that they need to get his deal done before they can do any other deals. If a deal is to get done it should be early.

True that could happen. But we both know that you aren’t getting a first rounder for a 30 year old papley. And we will just move our chips towards someone else. Apparently butler and gray are our fall backs. What gets it done fairly is my question?
Cripps will be 30 in a few years so he won't be worth as much then. Why don't you just swap him for Papley now?

Hanners & Scully have shown what injury does to a players trade value. Pick 4 and a second rounder should be enough, anymore and we're getting bent over. Considering he's a free agent next season, the alternative is Essendon just get pick 12 (based off of their ladder position this year)

Hannebery's deal was heavily effected by his massive pay packet. It was a salary dump on a player nearing the end of his career. It isn't comparable to the Daniher situation.

Just out of curiosity what is a fair trade between Sydney and Carlton for Papley. I know he’s just recently met a clause to re-sign till 2023 but does he have to honour it. Sydney have always been very good trading players. Mitchell for 14. Pick 13 for two seconds last year to help Carlton with McGovern. Surely we’d do this deal easily if he wants to come back to Vic and Carlton.

I think 8 for papley and a late second would be fair. Or maybe you would prefer next year’s first for papley.

It’s a sad state of affairs that you say we are fair traders if anything we have been far too generous. Seems the expectation is that we will continue to give up players for not much. It really comes down to a culture of trying to be fair to the player and building good trade relationships. If Papley wishes to go to the blues they will help him get there. We as fans are sick of getting the rough end of the pineapple in deals so you are probably going to get hostility suggesting Carlton advantages trades.

How about you suggest something sensible and gauge the reaction rather than fishing for what we think is a fair trade when most Swans fans don’t even want a trade.

Yes I agree. Sydney deserve more than what they got for Mitchell. They deserved 2 firsts. Papley probably won’t be overpaid to pay for it but. Hopefully Sydney get a fair price. I’m just asking what they might be to gauge this situation being played out in the media. I don’t actually know.

I wouldn’t bat an eyelid at pick 8 for papley. Even papley and a future second. I would at two firsts. Considering every player that’s historically been traded around this range are players like Judd and Treloar. Even Dangerfield didn’t get two firsts.

I don’t want to win the trade I just would love seeing a talented small forward like papley running around in blue. I’ll continue to watch him either way.

This situation is the same. The druggies are struggling with their cap. That, and his injury history, is what has probably caused this situation.

He is a notorious as a ***ck when it comes to negotiations when trading. Most of the time his arrogant posturing costs them deals that would probably work to their advantage which is visible in the stagnating development of their list and their failure to move towards a top 4 side. Considering Daniher will be available as a free agent next year Swans should open discussions with

" We are not here to be ****ed around Adrain so if you want to do that Go **** Yourself "

Yes, but this time he has a burning platform. **ck around Adrian and Jo will walk next year for a packet of half eaten chips if you’re lucky.

Why would we pay overs when we could pretty much get him for free next year? I would love to see him here next year, but not if it means making an unnecessarily costly trade.

Dodoro is a funny one. Notoriously hard to deal with, but look where all his pig-headedness has gotten their list.

After last years Shiel deal he’ll be under the pump not to screw this up.

Been told by a person high up at Geelong this morning it is now common knowledge in the industry Daniher has made the decision to get out and go to the Swans. Its happening and all the usual argy bargy needs to be done now.

It will get done mate.

We don’t knock back players coming to us with Danihers talent.

We had multiple years remaining on Hannebery's contract, it isn't the same situation.

Judd, Treloar and Dangerfield were not on contract. Papley is, so it should take a lot to dislodge him.

unsure where you get the info we have salary cap issues?.........can you share? There is literally zero chat about this in our folds and its not something reported on.

there's another swans poster who has been doing it on the main trade thread who refuses to provide where he got his source. Are you just repeating what they are saying?

May go along the lines of....with buddy having 3 yrs left on contract and still at peak of powers...1st yr have him back to fitness and gelling with bud and us back in contention....then 2nd yr....KABOOOM!!!

Two or three years apart. Some similarities inc OP though the Clubs deny it.
