In the end, I would be stoked with 12-13 and given I know we arent getting their future 1st since they seem to think they are entitled to Ben King then 12 and 13 is the only scenario I see playing out that we are happy with.

Think it will happen and we'll have 4 first round picks this year from the top 15 where picks 3-15 are a deadheat

Will be a good result

12,13 and acres for Hill and future second, who wins?

think acres could flourish learning from Fyfe and Mundy as opposed to Stuv and.... their other midfielders?

We win, Acres effectively decent steaknives. Deals 100x better than 6 and a future 3rd.

With Saints chucking Acres into every deal it does seem likely he’ll be involved

Again, this is very speculative. If our backyard is our strength then it should also be our strength to compare it with the SA and VIC potential and pick accordingly. I personally feel the top end talent suited to our list's needs are rated to be from outside WA (with WA's strength being the volume of that next tier down). Subjective, yes, but one qualified by far more experienced eyes than mine or yours.

It's those same experienced eyes that have pretty much failed in their drafting over the last 10-15 years or so. our first round drafting especially has been terrible, and our recruiting out of Melbourne (but for a couple of VFL mature agers in Barlow and Ryan) has been abominable.

I'll say this again because it's so important.
We are not going to outsmart all Melbourne clubs in drafting Melbourne kids.
We were so arrogant thinking we could that we based our head recruiter out of Melbourne. Madness. And it predictably failed.

Im ok with the deal but your relying a lot on Bulldogs giving up pick 13.

I’m assuming 18 lined up for Ryder/Howard. St Kilda are ponying you a big and long term contract for Doogie Howser MD so have said we’ll have first round thanks.

Also I’m still concerned that 12 will get burned by either of the clubs between 8 and 11 on Henry. I’ll post Separately another scenario which I think works and they keep 2020 first and we stay out of the danger zone.

Sorry for the intrusion just wanted to say well done to Bell and Freo for not buckling to media pressure from Barrett and the other pricktorians who think you should let Hill go back to Melbourne despite being contracted. If its alright for Geelong to hold Kelly to his contract when he obviously wanted to return to WA, then its fair game WA teams do the same if they are not offered market value for gun players.

**** the Vic bias.

Fair point and I agree with that much. But due dilligence still needs to be paid to those potential high draft choices based interstate. Though I don't think that much needs to be stated.

Where we will disagree is that this draft is an instance where the top talent is WA based. Happy to be wrong, but I truly think stacking up on teen picks is wasted value this year.

I reckon we would have to be damn unlucky to have a bid on Henry from 8 to 11.

18 should be going to Port for Howard & Ryder - more than fair given they are pushing both of them out.

Bulldogs need Bruce, and they cant go into next year. They'll have to break up 13 I think, they can do it while banking some points for next year

Saints can easily get this done.

First play is to dangle 18 and Stevens or 18 with Bruce for 13 or 14 with Dogs or Geelong and also receive pick 32 or 37.

They’ll then be armed with 12 and 13 or 12 and 14 + pick 32 or 37.

From there it unfolds.
Problem being Wells was on the trade radio interview panel saying 37 isn’t on the table for Stevens. I’d say they relent and agree to 37, maybe 36 at best but no way Wells goes yep we’ll give you a four pick upgrade in addition to 36 or 37. Maybe a 1 pick upgrade to from 18 to 17 but that is also unlikely considering it is Wells we’re taking about.

Bruce is some chance to give up 13 & 32 for 18 but Saints would need to give a later pick back because alone that is pick 23 which is a little too high for mine.

Then how do the Sainters get Doogie Howser??

fu** the Vic bias.

Honestly, unless we're lining up other trades I'd hope Bell is on the next plane home. His job is done as far as Hill is concerned. Impetus is on St. Kilda to come up with suitable value.

Spot on about the glaring hypocrisy though. Geelong were cannonized, we've been fired at with cannons for exactly the same thing.
