Yes it's going to be harder now we won't have pick 3. Only way they'd do it is in a live trade if he isn't bidded on by then, but that's no good to us by then.

They'd have to use 5 in another trade to creep up the order.

I think the point being that they would draft a player before a bid on Green came, which would push their next pick back.

I reckon the Swans will pounce and ambush the shit out of them.

Is Caldwell just wishful thinking or are the murmurs?
Wishful thinking.

He was the target when we tried to live trade picks last year.

There was also rumours that he was very homesick early on in the season.

It's gone very quiet on him since which could have a bit to do with him finally settling and playing games of footy now.

I'd take him with pick 5 if he was in this year's draft for what it's worth, I'd also love to grab him (and their 1sts in a trade with GWS for our pick 5 and potentially even next years first - but I doubt it's any more than a pipe dream for at least this year.

Giant supporters want 5 for Caldwell.

They have only named one player for the All Australian squad in the media
Jack Billings
If the selectors want to pick genuine wingmen, the classy left-footer would have a reasonable case to be in the discussion for a spot. Has averaged 26 disposals without missing a game, while having slotted 13 goals for the season. - Dinny Navaratnam

Emerging Victorian midfielder Darcy Tucker – one of the positives from this season – is also yet to sign, despite AFL.com.au understanding negotiations have long been under way.
Believe he is a Saints fan as well

Hill will be 27 by the time next season finishes and may only have 5 years left max.
If you're including next year, Hill could very easily have a good 7 or 8 years left.

Many are playing good footy up to 33/34 years of age these days, some beyond, especially if they're really fit types, like Hill.

Being so outside means he won't be getting banged up much, either.

You'd be pretty stiff if he was done by 31. He's really the exact type you'd be pretty confident would still be going well by at least 33yo.

I'm with BlacreJacks on this. If Freo want pick 5, they can give us a mid-to-late-ish first back. I get the feeling Freo will be fairly active so they should be able to get a pick somewhere in that range he's talking about. Tell them to get it done quickly if they want pick 5 before we split it.

Would 20 and 26 be good enough, from the Dees for Langdon.

I don’t think they can find a pick better.

Pick 5 and Acres for Hill, pick 20 and pick 26.

Probably means we’d be no chance at Bing if he were to nominate us next year then...

Whatever trades we do this year we’ll be strongly keeping in mind what we’ll need for Ben next year.
