Okay then, no names.

But will the average Sainter,

* feel happy?
* shrug their shoulders and go “meh”?
* roll their eyes?
* punch their computer screen and scream “f@&k!”?
* vomit violently?
All bar the first one Doc

It was interesting reading the Ben King artical about re signing , For all those who said he will be back soon im not so sure , he seems pretty happy and he sounds like he want to unite the team and really build something special not take the easy option to bail the first chance he gets .
I have a theory about Ben which maybe completely wrong but here goes .
The saints had the option to take either King and chose Max even with a knee injury , i wonder if Ben thinks they chose Max and now they just expect me to come running back to them now , Maybe Ben wants to build his own dynasty without being under the so called shadow of Max.
Some will say the boys Barracked for the saints and that its a given that Ben will be back soon , just remember the amount of players that actually play for the side they barracked for as a kid is pretty small and it generally means nothing IMO
Ben may come back but its no where near a certainty as some had said i dont think

You may be right but don’t forget he’s being paid massive dollars to be an ambassador for the AFL on the Gold Coast.

The answer for GC is to develop their club culture so players want to stay.

interesting... personally I think Ben has always secretly hated Max. Max was always the better footballer, always a centimetre taller, got all the girls, was born ten seconds before Ben. But Max was such a choir boy Ben had no choice but to pretend to like his brother. Secretly Ben kept a dartboard hidden in his closet with Max's face on it. When things got really bad he'd steal Max's learners permit and head down to the local IGA to rack some chips, hoping that he'd get caught and Max would take the blame. But he never had the hootspa to go through with it. He would always lose his nerve in the check out aisle and pull the smiths salt and vinegars out of his boardies at the last second. Finally now Ben's up on the Fold Coast he's stepped out of Max's shadow, he's the big man on campus, the king in the north. He aint comin back.

Just a question , do we know that as fact or is it just BF talk
Its a fact. AFL purposely doesn't disclose.

The amount can be argued but manager confirmed he was getting 'ambassador' money.
Consider SC were told he would not renew then Lethers said his dad called and told him the deal and he said the boy had to take it.
300k is what he gets from the AFL

$$$ Speaks all languages CR. The ambassadorial offer the AFL offer made was far to good to knock back regardless of any loyalties, he is on 3 x times the amount he would have been otherwise. Every young man in the country playing AFL understands their career wont go forever, so he would have been stupid not to take the money. Obviously as a part of the AFL top up he has to continue to make positive comments about the GCS and display loyalty!

Ben will play the second fiddle once again when Max is ripping the GC apart and the coach asks him to go back and mark up on his brother. Then he will slowly come to the realization that the only way to truly step out of the shadows will be to play alongside his brother and build the King Dynasty together. Then the day will finally come when in AFL circles someone mentions the name King and the natural response will be Max or Ben? And the name David will no longer cross the mind of couch analysts everywhere.

I think his keenness to leave Disneyland On Ice and return to the relative normality of Linton Street will be directly relative to the ability of his Disney teammates to stop playing like theme park mascots.

If they remain hopeless the lure to come home will outweigh any loyalty to said mascots.

Dont under estimate how good Ben can be , he a couple of 2 goal games , 2 bags of 3 and a 4 goal game against the Bombers being the main Banana and getting bugger all help most of the time , i know the wraps are on Max more than Ben but i doubt there is much between them

Wow - that sounds terribly corrupt.

Although I find it surprising that when I google "Ben King Ambassador Role AFL Gold Coast 2019" I get no results other than BigFooty.

When Max kicks his first bag of 5 for the Saints I'll send an F your way so you can be CaptainFRisky.

Not having a go, just a general statement:
Until we know the exact amounts the player is getting paid, how can we definitely say the AFL is corrupt or rigged?. If the amount you're saying is correct, I'll be with you supporting you with a pitchfork and marching down to AFL headquarters demanding answers. Until then, why do we even get triggered about it?

whether it’s $100, $150,000 or $300,000 it doesn’t matter. The AFL paying anyone outside the cap shouldn’t happen. They need to remain independent of the clubs, not provide that kind of leg up that simply isn’t available to anyone else.
