To the contrary it wouldnt surprise me at all. Its obvious our current Football Management group are highly competent and Gallagher & Libatore are not frightened to back themselves in. Perhaps Libartore thinks he can get someone important to our list build this year and Gallagher believes he can trade back into the 1st round next year?

I recall the year (2017) Hawthorn traded out all their early picks and took Worpel as their first pick @45. Sometimes clubs with later picks are happy to take the slider and they turn to gold.
