Yes I saw him about 10 times as an under 18 and wanted us to take him but in the under 18’s those things aren’t apparent. They are apparent when he has played for Geelong. He went later than expected because recruiters know more about under 18’s footy and players than I know.
I was thinking the same. When Caro said we're in to 2 big name players Papley was my first thought.

As I mentioned last week we are a huge chance to jag Caldwell. We loved him in his draft year and formed a close relationship with him and his family.
Exactly. And the Scum were by all reports happy to hand it over.
So why would they not take our 1st round pick for Papley if they were happy for a similar trade last year? I'm confused. .
So I'll take your word for it here since you watch far more of GWS than l do.

Because they had a player to use it on. They may not at the end of the year. Daniher will cost so miluch less for a start. And they wanted pick 4 from last year. I would hope we have nothing like that.
Luckily the recruiters knew he would be slow and inaccurate that his 10 contested possessions and nearly a goal a game would be worthless to us.
Lucky for us they saw the tremendous talent that is Oscar Clavarino, the pick before Constable. Dodged a bullet there.

played in the centre every game dishing it out to the likes of Bonner ,Davies Unacke and Ross(Rich)
he was a big unit at 190 odd and was real good at stoppages with handball partly because of his size compared to others but quite ordinary by foot as you said .
He was compared to Cripps but the knock was he just wasn’t fit and able to spread .
He may have been coming off a year 11 injury.Might have been doing rehab with Boner but don’t quote me on this .

I suppose because he is a hbf and we have enough in that position we need genuine balanced midfielders....
Ok, fair enough.
From what I've seen, I've always believed he can play as an outside/inside mid, like what we would want from Seb.
Certainly l would have no desire for another HBF either. .

A big sized midfielder averaging 21.43 disposals in a strong Geelong midfield, I wouldn’t say had average skills.
If we had Constable would he get a game ahead of Dunstan?
Their f/s rookie Sam Simpson couldn't get a game last season but won the VFL Cats b and f. Must have played a blinder in his first game this year.
