He has said all year his preference was to stay. We asked him to test the waters and held off Tabling him and offer until we see what compo is. We now know. So we match and he stays.
Wasnt his preference to leave as of last week?

I think your point here is outdated now. Alot has changed since then.

Don't think Crows will match.

If its a trade we will have to give up pick 15 which is really correct value. A lot less than what the Crows wanted. Stiff sh*t.

We won’t trade. Lethlean has indicated this in an interview last week. Free agency means FREE.

I think it depends if he is a RFA or not - I think if a club matches an RFA the player can't walk to the PSD. Might be wrong through.

If that's not the case then yeah I agree, take him in the draft.

Matching only closes the free agency door. He’s still out of contract & can nominate for the drafts.

I'm proud of the club for not offering Crouch a ridiculous contract. Anything above 700k I would have been pretty disappointed. Most likely scenario now is Crows accept the compo and we trade 15 for 23, or Crows accept the compo and we give them Dunstan for peanuts. I don't see any other scenario happening.

Wonder if we’ve got smart with off salary earnings for players, utilising our board? $600k at 4 years to lure a gun seems low to me.

Think you are wrong, he is OOC, you can't be forced to sign a contract. Contract law 101. Also would contravene Corps Law on coersion, or is that still Contract Law, haven't studied it for 20 years.
Anyway if they match and he says no, they can try to force a trade, if he says no, he can nom for the national Draft like Ball with a price on is head, or the PSD with a price on his head.

If he accepts the Crow matched offer, they have to agree under offer and acceptance laws, they can't say no.

A question for the legal eagles:
Assuming this FA goes through without Adelaide matching, is there anything stopping St Kilda and B Crouch revising the contract at a later date?

This is my understanding also mate, and the only teams I can think that will take on his price in the psd is north and maybe hawks?

Only with crouchs approval which would be unlikely

Its the problem the pies have right now. Players won't take a hair cut.

No. But there isn’t some secret agreement here to screw Adelaide either.

It literally is as face value.

My understanding was we spent the last few days talking the frame work of a trade hence the lodgement delay.

Who is this buttons91 campaigner that continually thumbs down my posts? I see he’s a Carlton supporter however he has a lot of Adel interests. He reminds me of that gillo campaigner who had a brain injury.

A crows supporter pretending to be a Carlton supporter on his profile.

Thought ironic liking and down voting was a cardable offence. George ?

Excellent, so there is an opportunity for upside should B Crouch warrant it.
It didn’t sit right to think that the contract is forever limited and could not be revised.

I hope we don't trade for him

Don't mind if they don't match and we get a better outcome for everyone, but if they match, they burn pick 23. If they are so stupidly bloody minded to do that, well match, Brad can stay and we miss out. So sad, too bad.

Hope Crouches management absolutely has told the Crows that if they match he will accept.
