Collingwood want a first round pick for Treloar and he (rightly so), doesn't want to be paid anything less than his agreed contract. It's not 900, but close. Disappointing as would've loved him for a second RDP.

FWIW, we've enquired about his services.

Pies might get desperate towards the end of trade period, it sounds like they have a lot to do to get their cap in order.

They have to take a hard stance initially and try and get what they can in a trade but if they want someone to take on that salary they need to be realistic.

Glad we are enquiring and hope we are not out of the running. Hopefully we have told them what we are willing to do trade and salary wise and to come back to us if they need to.

can see them dealing with dogs for treloar, dogs dont want a first rounder this year(ugle hagen)and pies wont want one next year(daicos jr jr)they are a perfect match for each other,we should start planning ahead

So on the eve of the Trade Period, a summary of our interests:

.....................

Incoming:
Brad Crouch - will AFC match, and if so do we trade or walk?

Adam Treloar - will we test Collingwood's desperation if few other Vic clubs are forthcoming?

Jack Higgins - what picks will RFC take this time round?

Quinton Narkle - are we in the market for him, and what will it take?

Josh Dunkley - do we ask the question? He wants a professional environment and his first name does begin with J.

Jye Caldwell - not signed anything with EFC yet, do we attempt to hijack that deal if they get Dunkley across?

Shaun McKernan - is he worth taking as a King buffer or...

Brayden(?) Crossley - do we prefer a tarnished ruck backup?

Do the top secret War Room plans have any other surprises in store?

Outgoing:

Jake Carlisle - does he go for job security at the Hawks or do we lock him down?

Jack Lonie - is his passage to the Kennel secure and will we be nice to the Bulldogs or bother with a bidding war?

Jimmy Webster - who is going to take this fine player off our hands? Will we accept unders for the salary dump?

Luke Dunstan - see above

Dan MacKenzie - see above

Billings or Ross - will either get a Godfather offer out of the blue?
....................

Got a good feeling about this period!

Billings , Ross and Carlisle are best 22 even with Crouch and Higgins in the team - they are must keeps.
The only one I'm worried about is Carlisle if he walks and hopefully our round one draft pick and a trade of Dunstan or Lonie could get us a replacement.

I still believe we can score a key defender from Fremantle - they can not play all of Duman 1.93m , Hamling 1.94m , Logue 1.93m , Pearce 2.01m , Cox 1.95m
This year Logue - 5 games , Pearce - 0 games and Hamling - 0 games and round 17 they beat North with [44] Taylin Duman, [36] Brennan Cox, [14] Nathan Wilson and [32] Stephen Hill, [13] Luke Ryan, [15] Ethan Hughes

surely they will let one go - because you can only play 3 tall's at the most in there backline.

True mate, but they do now find themselves short a forward, they might have plans to swing one of them up there as a stop gap.
Saying that would love to shake one of them loose

Thought I would get in early today.

The late whisper floating around from my unnamed sources is that Adelaide will either match or not match today.

Make of that what you will, can the Flamer confirm through their network of sources , The Herald Sun, The Age and Fox Footy.

So excited just saw a drone fly overhead but can’t confirm if Crouch was on it.

All this carry on from Crows supporters about matching.

For what? A 6 pick upgrade from 23 to 17.

It's all about saving face for them now. They are much better off saying to us we'll take the compo if we can work another deal out.

They have 2 late 3rds they could offer for our 2nd next year. Nezt year is said to be a strong draft woth a few handy handy SA talents high up the order.

Do you think St Kilda waited until Sunday to get an overlap with the trade period? If the clubs have to agree on a trade, creating 815 points out of nothing with the compo would help.

Something like:

Adelaide trade 22 and 49 to St Kilda for 17 and next years 2nd and 3rd

Something like:

Adelaide take 23 compo. ST kilda get Crouch.

Adelaide lose Crouch and 49. Gain 17 and next years second and 3rd

St Kilda pay next years second and 3rd and a five pick downgrade for Crouch and 49.

If saints finish 8th say, picks 29 and 47 next year.

Adelaide out: crouch and 1132 points
In: 2780 points

St Kilda out: 1965 points
St Kilda in : Crouch and 1132 points

Adelaide receive net 1648 points - pick 7 for crouch

St Kilda pay net 833 points - pick 22 for crouch

Might look complicated, but St Kilda pay ~22 for Crouch, with upside if you finish higher than 8th.
St Kilda not trading first

Part of me thinks - how we would we be acting / feeling if we were the club losing the player ie Crouch leaving us for another club. Then I realise that we have been in that position multiple times....Goddard, Dal Santo, Ball, McEvoy, Stanley, Steven etc.

Yep most of those have been traded out when were in a rebuilding process but we have lost a lot of players over the years to improve through the draft and trading. We did not get overs for any of those players (although I am happy with the picks we got from the McEvoy trade....even though a certain commentator said we should have given more picks!)

We are in a different position now - we actually have quite a strong list that needs tweeking not re building.

Crows need to realise where they are at.

Saints realise where we are at.

Confident in our administration and our list.

They should just take the compo pick then immediately trade that to GWS for Hately.

Present it publicly as replacing Crouch directly with a young player who actually wants to be at the club and help make them good again.

Like the dogs need another mid
treloar is a little better than another mid,if you have winx, phar lap and might and power in the stable, you dont say no to kingston town, besides if dunkley goes they could go a fair way to replacing him and fix up their ruck/key forward issues in one hit,treloar/cox & go after the best key forward they can get(tell the bloke that recruited bruce to take a break this time & do it properly)

just replied to a Richmond fan who thought they might be able to nab Gresham in the Higgins trade. Anyway I suggested some other savage/dunstan type options which didn't do down to well. I probably won't go back to be honest.

There was a Richmond fan that rang SEN last week on trades and suggested that if Crouch was going to get the Crows pick 2 (which was the radio commentators suggestion then), that Collier-Dawkins and some others who were fringe players were worth multiple first round picks. Apparently because they were from Richmond and not on actual value, he was Dodoro levels of idiot. The announcer couldn't even work out what he was saying it was so stupid.

Just catching up. Is there more to the Dunkley thing that's developed today or is it still just rumour and supposition?

I'd love him if there was any chance we could get a piece of the action

We don't have anything to trade for him. You'd love to know why he hates the Dogs so much that he'd run and WTF the Collingwood older layers hate about Treloar. He must have done something significantly horrendous. Journalists say he was a popular teammate but they swear that the older guys told him not to come back.
