This was my post

" I actually couldn't care less what happens as long as we keep our first pick. I do know with your way of thinking that has the potential to stuff that up but luckily the people in charge these days have a brain and don't see things like yourself and will see it done right. "

Caro reporting the news.... ya know things that actually happen, not the make believe world you live in

Veteran AFL reporter Caroline Wilson revealed the Crows and Saints had discussed a "side deal" over another player.

That deal is reported to have been engineered to circumvent the AFL's complicated free agency compensation system, to give the Crows a top-end pick.

Wilson told FIVEaa Radio the Crows and Saints had held talks over off-loading 25-year-old former SANFL player Luke Dunstan to the Crows in a move that would have allowed the Saints to beef-up their contract offer to Brad Crouch, gifting a higher compensation pick to the Crows.

"Dunstan might go to Adelaide as part of a side deal that would free up a bit more money for Brad Crouch, which would mean St Kilda was happy, Adelaide was happy because it would lift the draft pick," Wilson said.

"This side deal was something that a few other clubs got wind of, might've mentioned it to the AFL.

"Legal counsel Andrew Dillon oversees all of the trades – he got wind of it... St Kilda was told this is not going to happen so don't even think about it.

My quotes

"700-750k is not massive overs for a player of his ability. Anyone with sense would know this.

Josh Bruce ffs got that from the dogs last year, lmao."

Which you sooked over Winmar, YET the club was trying to do it until the AFL told them no.

"Makes zero sense from St Kildas perspective to not get Adelaide their pick two so we in turn keep our first pick.

If that means we hand over Dunstan, you take his salary for next year and toss a third back, we bump up Crouches salary and everyones a winner. "

Sooked over this as well and look who was spot on.

We tried to deal with Adelaide, the AFL blocked our side deals, so our hands were tied, we kept our first and Adelaide were stuck with compo. The AFL helped us and shat on the crows. Win.

Sorry thread, there is really no need for this in here, should have been in private if he's got an issue but he wants to make it public...
Well take it to PM. We don't want to read your ego saving rubbish

With the amount shit posted on here, it must be one quiet weekend with trade news. Anyone have anything insightful to share like what's going on with Jack Higgins?

Tarryn Thomas will be a gun and Logue is just a bit injury prone, he missed 22 months of footy and still only 21. If you wanted to come up with three busts they aren't who you'd pick. Coffield to me is one of our three A graders. I'd only have Steele and Butler better than him in 2020.
Saad doesn't do that much for me. He's fast and eye catching but he's not that damaging some how. He's like an upmarket Nick Hind, he's not like peak Johnisson or anything. I reckon he's worth a late first early second at best. Pick 15 to 22 sounds about spot on to me just on the vibe of it.
When they start wanting high draft picks for halfback flankers you have a problem, around 22 sounds right.
People like to see a player run off halfback with a couple bounces , but when you have halfbacks who can intercept mark and precision pass the ball gets to the preferred position faster.
For instance Saad gets under 3 marks a game , Coffield gets over 6 and ● Ranked 4th in Marks Per Game and ● Ranked 13th in Total Intercepts and in his first real season where he has cemented his place in the team and just turning 21 the guy his going to be elite.
However I feel he can play more than on the halfback line.

Anyway when you have to go out and bring in halfback flankers like Saad and Williams on big money is really crazy , usually the halfback line is a good position to get a player into the game and you can develop players from there.
We currently have Hunter Clark 21 , Paton 22, Long 23 and Coffield 21 who can all play the position well and are no older than 23 and all have great disposal.

The Bombers would of been better served getting someone like Long , this year he really showed he has found a position in the team.
He doesn't play loose , plays hard and tough and once again can intercept mark and has a great kick on both sides , you will now see him bloom in the coming years and become a real asset.

Seagulls usually get into the play by running past players and receiving and they usually are wingmen but when you have them like Saad off halfback they can really hurt a team on the rebound.

It’s James Gallagher and Simon Lethlean , who I’d love to see on long term deals. A couple of the shambolic clubs will soon come after them. (probably with Essendon leading the way)

Meanwhile, in the Saad trade thread (arguing the value of Saad vs players taken around pick 8):

You could argue his the best running back in the league....the main point was for every Naughton there is three others at pick 8 like a Tarryn Thomas, Nick Cofield and Griffin Logue.

Ummmm...Coffield an implied bust? Morons.

Pin that on his locker for first day back, and tell him to spend season 2021 jamming every last word up them ... sideways ... in large print.

I think he'll do it anyway, but no harm in a little motivational speech ;)

Not worried about them committed to being regarded as immortals getting that elusive prize

Watch his highlight from when he was the rising star. He was as good an under 18 as I've seen, he wins matches by himself and does the freakish. He's had a poor year but his talent is incredible.

The kids a star - some clown in the media calls him soft and they run with it.
We get him in our team it would make us even more potent.

Mate, I have seen better photoshopping when Windows 95 was around.
Have you heard they’re updated Windows 95?

Check the internet for more info about it. 😉
I don't have Google.
Stop wasting your time butting heads with the doc or you’ll miss your next big scoop 😉

The Flamingo vs The Dr. for the title of 'who has the best content on the Saints board'??

I feel like one party is going to get spanked very very very badly in the popular vote*

*And no I am not talking about the guy who just became the first person since 1892 to lose the popular vote TWICE

I'm surprised Lethlean has stuck around as long as he has. Overqualified for the job to begin with, I thought his job acceptance at the Saints was more a short term job gap before he climbed the ranks back to something more prestigious and related to his previous work. How lucky were the Saints to pick him up after his AFL headquarters indiscretion?

Saints have strong administration off field for once. This is a must for successful teams.

Gallagher was a no name recruit. Just goes to show it's about quality and not about hype.

Saints have a trigger in Lethlean’s contract. He can’t move prior to a flag.
