used to go to selina's long time ago to see bands ... is that still going?

... apparently so
I remember a New Years Eve event that had Noiseworks, Crowded House and OMD. We snuck in our own booze so just bought cola, wasn't a bad night all told.

And to get us all back on topic...I swear the ESPN team has like zero knowledge of what Sydney needs. Why would we pick another small forward in with our 2nd round pick. Why?

Certainly not if Sheldrick is still there as predicted! A few other possibles as well.

Does the Three Weeds still exist?

Knightmare actually explained this one, he felt our tackles inside F50 were low so could do with a pressure forward.

Looking at stats though - 2 players in the top 10 for total, 4 in the top 20 for average.....

No other team has as many players in the top 10 or 20 as we do.....

If you've got any aptitude for a finance career, the Swans is the place to be. Even GWS seems to have good connections. Matt Deboer's footy payments would be inconsequential ( well, a bit) compared to the entree into the Sydney business world, and mentoring.
Yep we'v'e got that deal awaiting the 5% of footy players that applies to.
But no more than a few Melbourne clubs. And WC could also offer that with connections to the resources sector in Perth.

I'd wager this gig pays a lot better, and for longer than AFL does. Wish I'd had Mike's brain chemistry. :grinning:

The fact they don't even mention he is a premiership hero is wrong :p

Pridham should pay Kinnear a talent spotting fee!

Pretty obvious that this Knightmare (Doerre) guy is a VFL/Vic team fan and knows sweet FA about the other teams.

This is the same guy who said before last years draft Gulden wasn't a "best 22' quality player because he was 169cm. Not even counting the fact that the height he used was 12 months old, he had obviously not watched Gulden play. Yet people give him credit as an "expert".

People say that Matt Rendell is an expert too. Goes to show how much "people" know.

i'm going back to 83-84 ... a beer barn, a sweathouse on summer nights ... negotiating the minefield of drinkers in the coogee bay beer garden out front ...
Yep, very long time ago... Late 70's to mid 80s we followed the bands around the Sydney Beaches from Newport Arms to Coogee... The Party Boys was made up of whoever wasn't playing but felt like jamming, from Red to Angry... Once I drank, danced and partied till dawn for a good time, now I go to the Swans game... Still do I lot screaming, but a lot less drinking!!!

In Knightmare's defence he would probably watch upwards of 100-150 games of junior football a year and is easily one of the better draft experts.

Hard to imagine that he would know the full set up of every team's list, and he wasn't the only recruiter/ expert/ club that had Gulden sliding down the order (in fact he slid quite far last year).

His articles and videos on McDonald were very astute.

Van Rooyen doesn't really make a difference either. We can't bank on him transforming our back 6, most key defenders take a few years before they can hold their own
Does it matter if he take a few years?

I think it would be a mistake if we get ahead of ourselves and think we are contenders now.

We really only started the rebuild in 2018.

We'll send Bud out a winner in 23' with a flag to match his shirt number.
Van Rooyen can be playing in his second year looking at him being 195 and 91 kg already. Give him another 5 kg of muscle and he'll be good.

depends where VCan R sees himself playing. if he wants forward, and we insist on playing him back, the west teams will be in his ear, "we'll polay you forward. Prefer we target a KPD who wants to play there.

I’ve seen enough of VanR in the WAFL colts to know he’s going to be a quality player - but I sense he’ll be a forward.

I love what I’ve seen of Bazzo, albeit admittedly only 2 games. He completely nullified VanR in themost recent encounter. He’s quick, powerful & courageous.

I’ve said it a few times here, but I think both Bazzo and Sheldrick are on huge upward curves & I’d be extremely happy to draft either (or both!).

Having said that - I have absolutely no idea who the Swans are interested in this year.
