i don't closely follow all these draft prospects but this kid looks one of the best of the highlights reels i've seen, seems very composed and looks natural kicking with both feet
what's the reality of him being available for us?
i'll say again, i think big key defenders are our priority but would be more than happy with taylor at the swans

It may be considered early but I would not be remotely against the Swans calling Taylor's name for pick 18.

Can be picked up as a delisted free agent outside of the draft.
Ok.
Will be interested to see how it plays out.
Everyone is saying he goes back to Geelong.
But **** Geelong
They gave him the ass.

Also this:

Multiple sources on Friday indicated to foxfooty.com.au the Cats were now most likely to gain Pick 23, given they already hold a stack of second-round selections (Picks 22, 30, 32 and 34) that can be used as part of a trade.

Hmm, Okay so the rumour is Cats are doing a pick swap with the Dogs and gaining 23.

Seems like the sort who could really make it at an AFL level.

In saying that though I don't know enough about him to be sure. I hope a highlights video turns up.
Did you catch him in any of the VFL games this year? If you can find any replays you can check him out there.

Ah, so this is the article where its stated we were after the Dogs pick 23

Clubs also expect an array of second-round picks to be traded across the two draft nights, with Geelong tipped to win the race for the Western Bulldogs’ first selection (Pick 23).

The Cats, Magpies and Swans have all flagged their interest in the pick, knowing the Bulldogs have put the selection on the table in the hope of acquiring multiple later picks to help them match an inevitably early bid on father-son gun Darcy while, possibly, gaining more capital in next year’s draft.

Finn Calaghan looks good. What's more he is named after Finn McCool the great Irish hero of the Cronicles. Finn McCool is supposed to have been an Irish hero who as a boy was unbeatable at Hurling. Being so agile as to be able to leap free over the tallest player. He never missed a goal or a pass.

This kid's kicking sounds just like Dawson's. Long and accurate and makes good decisions. He is touted at 17 so around our pick. He is named as liw as 5 in some drafts apparently. Hope we can get him. He is a winger and could move into the mids. He is also a good handballer and will use the best option. He sounds just what we need

Seriously you just make sh*t up.
3 examples;
Clarke played 2 games as sub (not one) and over the 3 seasons he's been here he's averaged 17 disp per game (excl this year's subs) not the 11 claimed by you.
Taylor had 6 disposals in his game as sub (not the 3)
Cunningham has averaged 80% disposal efficiency over his career (and bettered that in 2021) not exactly the '50/50 kick at his best' you suggested.

I will give you you thing.
You sound authoritative when posting nonsense.
Not nonsense. All figures from Footy wire. Don't know where you got yours from

I got them from Footywire.

Let's just do an easy one.
Your claim;
Taylor's only game netted 3.
My claim;
Taylor had 6 disposals in his game as sub (not the 3)

What does Footywire say?

I miss when were a destination club for picks :(

I might be in the minority but I liked Goater's highlights for an inside mid. That burst speed from congestion is becoming very important in the modern AFL, and I think that it's something that we've targeted recently. See Warner, Rowbottom, rotating Papley through there. He has good hands, so let him step on the gas to get some separation, handball to McInerney / Campbell etc in space and we're laughing. You're not going to get his combination of speed and power together with elite kicking with pick 19 - that describes a top 5 pick.

Totally agree. But are you willing to pay the price of trading up to 14/15 to get him?

Unfortunately not as I don't have Kayo.

Watched this game today on Kayo. Seems comfortable playing at this level. Round 13 debut in the VFL against Footscray

Sawtell/Toormina Saint Makes VFL Debut
by News Of The Area - Modern Media - July 21, 2021
Angus Anderson has made his VFL debut.

SAWTELL/Toormina Saints star Angus Anderson has made the step up to big-time footy making his VFL debut for the Sydney Swans.
Anderson made his debut in a Swans team which featured 14 AFL listed players, as they took on the ladder leaders and undefeated Footscray Bulldogs.
The Victorian Football League (VFL) is the second-best competition in Australia behind the AFL.
The Swans went into the final quarter with a 30-point lead, but the undefeated Footscray side showed why they are sitting at the top of the table, storming home to kick 6 straight goals in the final quarter to secure a thrilling seven-point victory.
Playing predominantly on the wing and half forward flank, the Swans coaching staff showed their faith in Anderson when they moved him into the midfield for several centre bounces.
His personal highlight came late in the second term when he booted his maiden VFL goal from a set shot on a wide angle.
AFL North Coast Community Football & Competition Manager Paul Taylor said Anderson didn’t look out of place against some of the best players in Australia.
“Angus Anderson marked his first appearance at AFL level with a goal on debut, showing that he was far from overawed playing in a team with 14 AFL listed players,” he said.”
“Wearing the Swans heritage jumper Angus looked at home at VFL level.”
The new Swans player has had a big 2021 which included being named on the supplementary list for the Southport Sharks VFL team, before his talents were noticed by the Swans and he joined the Sydney Swans Academy under 19 team.
The Sawtell footballer was also named in the Allies squad for this year’s NAB AFL Under 19 National Championships.
The new Swans player had outstanding junior and senior seasons playing for the Sawtell/Toormina Saints last year.
He was named the AFL North Coast’s under 17’s best and fairest and finished runners-up in the seniors best and fairest.
