I'd be surprised (and disappointed) if we went an inside midfielder when we have the opportunity to pick up Anderson as an academy product for that role.

It's also a player type we've been moving away from in recent years
Will be interesting to see where Anderson goes.

Have a feeling the AFL will give them a compensation pick for Jones (a slight prediction an end of second round pick), so they may have another one between the two
Whoa! Left field that one. What about clubs whose players haven't yet declared or have moved to the inactive list like the fellow waiting on Novovax? Dangerous path.

Just a gut feeling with what will happen. It’s not really the clubs fault

why would they be entitled to a compensation pick because a player made a ridiculous, ignorant, selfish "lifestyle" decision?

I agree with you but I bet the AFL won’t.

From the sounds of it he is going to be a rookie selection.

freo and hawthorn (due to him being in the eastern ranges squad which has strong links to hawthorn) are very interested in him

not be surprised if there is a middle to late bid on him in the draft.

the swans do have the points to cover middle to late bids for him .if that happens

Agreed. I think he's shown enough to get called out in the draft and good on him!

Whether we match in that case would be the issue, think we've only opened 3 spots.

I'm concerned that once we pass with our fourth selection whether that be in the mid 60s that a club after that may draft Anderson. I don't think there's anything we could do about it.

This is not a solution but an unhelpful lament, but there are quite a few players I would consider dead weight still on our list. Had we delisted even just one or two of them, we may have more list spots available to accommodate Anderson with a national draft pick.

Sometimes you got to pass though happens. Could have delisted a few more though

If you're after a list of the nominated draftees go the OP here

After pick 73 there is no points allocated to said picks.

Free match. Just means a player would have to be delisted to accommodate. But seeing as we operate with a reduced list size already may not be a problem
