Yes it is. But for the hours you actually do, the bullshit that you have to put up with from some parents, colleagues, school and departmental leadership and the amount of paperwork taking over the role (and the stress and guilt created because it takes away from actually teaching), there are fewer and fewer staying in the profession. I give it 5 years and we will be in dire straits with teacher shortages across the country.
I just resigned. I agree with the above. The teaching keeps me there. All the other crap drives me out. So I'm free now.

Real shame. I come from a family of teachers and married into one. Steered clear of it myself. Nowhere near enough patience. Hope the next phase works well for you.

My students are all upset. But it is a hard slog to do everything that you are supposed to do. None of that involves the teaching. The most important part. I am relieved. It can be very stressful. But I moved into a job that is all over red rover when you clock off. Much happier.

I only did casual work for 3 years and even that was stressful enough. When I was not in the classroom I kept thinking about what I did wrong, or right, or what I should do next time. I was thinking these things non stop. Now I am doing a completely different job, longer hours, worse start times and finish times but what is a godsend is that as soon as I sign off I don't think about work again until my next shift. That is such an underrated thing.

That is why I left. I needed to get free of work. It consumed me. Weekends. Nights, Always thinking about it.
But we need to sign a good KPD (or KPF).

I get the feeling that I am going to like watch Tyler Sonsie play. Shame it will be at another club.
Every time I see that name my brain rewires to Keyser Soze.

Sonsie plays VFL for Box Hill doesn't he? I imagine the Hawks will be all over him.

yep. That is another reason why I will not like watching him play for them. I used to watch Hawks games only because I wanted to see Buddy and Cyril Rioli play. When Buddy came over to the good side I could happily miss all Hawks games.

Had a read on AFL.com of the free agents. The two best on the list, with good footy in front of them, were Parker and Hewett. Not one single player did I see that brought a reaction of "ooohhh!". A very barren field indeed!

Josh Kelly, Cam Guthrie, Kamdyen McIntosh would all be instant improvements to our midfield. I don't think you're giving them enough credit

wouldn't touch guthrie or mcintosh, they'd ask too much for nothing special ... we've got a squad with potential for much more than what those two offer, spend money on keeping them over the next few years, don't waste it

McIntosh wouldn't. Richmond fans are bemoaning his selection in a currently average Richmond outfit. The other two would, but no chance of getting either given our cap squeeze.
